Great quality and my little one sleeps really well in it. It seems like he feels not only warm, but safe and secure in it. Hi Emma, I’ve been following you since my 4 month old baby boy was born! Thank you so much for the great insights! My question is I’ve been told to train him wake-eat-play-sleep cycle. But he wouldn’t sleep unless I feed him before he goes to bed and because I’m only breastfeeding I can’t tell how much I feed him each time. So, it’s been really difficult for me to follow and that made me feel bad 😞. How important is it to follow the cycle and would he naturally learn to fall asleep without the training? Thank you so much!

thank you for your great videos! But when you say babies of 4 months age sleep up to 5 hours on their first session, you are referring to bottle fed babies? Because neither my daughter nor any other baby of her age we know sleeps that long while being 100% breast fed. I've heard that bottle fed babies tend so sleep longer so I guess that goes for them? Our daughter consistently wakes up every 2-3 hours... there have been sessions of 5-6 hours but these are rare.
@liachang1262 ай бұрын
My 4 month old also only sleeps for 2-3 hours at a time, sometimes as little as 1 hour! How long was it before your baby started sleeping through the night?
@schweflo2 ай бұрын
@liachang126 hey, really sleeping through the night was somewhere around 2,5 years, not gonna lie. But then she slept already in her own bed in her room. This change came all out of nowhere, we've never pressured her. Until then she always slept with us in our family bed. I think those changes best come naturally and you just try to make the time as good as possible for you all. One thing that we've noticed tho is that she slept longer after she stopped wanting breastfeeding. Good luck and sleep to you!

Hi Emma, thank you for making these videos! My son will be 4 months old on the 25th of Feb, his wake windows are approx 1-1.5hr, should I be worried? He does almost all the things you’ve covered in this video, except for the lifting up his chest with his hands open, he goes in his chest but he keeps his hands closed, only when he gets tired, he opens his hands and goes on a swinging mode so have to roll him in his back again or else he cries.. he also rolls on his side sometimes and does a full roll but with assistance. Many thanks 🙏🏽
@EmmaHubbard Жыл бұрын
Hi Irina from what you have said I would not be concerned. He sounds like he is doing well! The only reason I would be concerned is if his hand is always fisted and this is preventing him from being able to hold onto toys. But if his hand is only fisted when lying on his tummy then that is ok. But as always if you are worried check in with your little one's doctor as they can see him in person and complete an assessment.

My baby just turned 3 months and has passed all these milestones except sleeping through most of the night. I know he’s not 4 mos. yet, but even at 3 months he still has 4 feedings between 23:00 & 7:00. He’s primarily breast fed, but I give him 4 oz of formula before bedtime at 19:00 and his first night feed at 23:30 to try to keep him fuller longer. If anyone has any feedback or reassurance that this is normal that’d be much appreciated !
@EmmaHubbard3 жыл бұрын
Hi @Julianna Versola what your little one is doing is perfectly normal. It is rare for a baby to sleep "through the night". When people refer to sleeping through the night at this age what they generally mean is that they go to bed late and wake early. So for example they might have their last feed at 9.30pm and sleep until 6. But this is not the norm. At 3 months of age it is normal for babies to be waking 2 -3 times a night after having a longer stretch of sleep (4-5 hours) at the start of their night time sleep. Which is exactly what your little one is doing. So your little one is having a feed at 7pm and then waking for a feed 4 hours later. This is perfect. Generally that first stretch of sleep will increase as your little one gets older.

I am quite frustrated with my baby's cat naps and beginning to get a bit worried.
@EmmaHubbard4 жыл бұрын
Hi Saemi glad you liked the video. It is amazing your little one is already falling asleep on her own. Catnaps are expected at this age and since she is already able to fall asleep on her own then I would expect that by 6 months when her body is ready she will start to lengthen her sleeps. Just make sure the room that she falls asleep in is very dark (I have a video on blackout blinds which might be helpful). That way when she wakes between sleep cycles she won’t be stimulated by everything in the room and will go back to sleep.

@@teammotivation1952 around 5 months age, trying doing tummy time on floor. Sit in front of your baby's head and try to grab attention with her favorite toy, move it from one side to another.

@@teammotivation1952 As you have mentioned before, if your baby is not picking her head up while on tummy then you should consult with your pediatrician soon.

Hi,can you please make development videos for premature babues for each month
@EmmaHubbard3 жыл бұрын
Hi @Learning and Fun the developmental milestones we expect for premature babies is actually the same as babies who were born full term. The only difference is the milestones we expect are based on their corrected age not gestational age. So if they were born at 32 weeks then they are 2 months premature. So when they are 4 months gestational age their corrected age is 2 months and you would be aiming for the developmental milestones of a 2 month old. Hope that makes sense.

Dear Emma, my 4 month old started to have difficulties to go back to sleep after the night feedings. He kicks when we put him down after being rocked to sleep, or protests being rocked after the second feed. Sometimes I hear his intestines working..we asked the GP but he said it's not tummy issue because he kick upwards, not towards the tummy and does not cry just simply wakes. Do you have any suggestions?

agh same with my 4 month old baby girl she used to sleep right after her night feeding but not anymore it takes me an hour or 2 to put her back to sleep which is tiring...its so easy for the dr to say let her sleep on her own or let her cry to sleep😶

My baby only roll from his back to the side during sleep. But he never does that when awake. It seems he has no interest in going to his stomach either.

My baby sleep for the most 4hours the entire day. Only roll if I put him on a pillow and hardly open his hands. He doesn't reach for stuff either.

So my 4 month old has three naps but he sleeps for a lot longer. Two naps are 3 hours and evening nap is 1.5 hours. His bed time is 9pm and he wakes up at 7 am with minding dream feed and 3 am feed. Is that normal? Everywhere I look it says that it’s too much day time nap. Should I be waking him?

Hi Emma, in the video you said a 4month old will be sleeping between 5-8 hours at night. However my baby still wakes up every 3 hours.. I need your advice.

I was wondering if you could offer me some advice. My newly 4 month old at night time will sleep a stretch of anywhere from 2-6hrs. It’s never the same. One week she slept, 4hrs,5hr,6hrs then recently it’s 2-3 hrs then up every 1-2 hrs. (B Feeding 2-3 times). Is this normal ?
