Nice, I am a longtime MPC 2000 XL user, and still learned two things from this video. I always love how well-thought the features and work flows on these vintage machines really are. And so are the manuals, too. Well-written, all the info and then some. Sometimes even dozens of MIDI SysEx documentation. For those 1-U-19"-FX-rackunits, for instance.

One of my favorite things about the sp1200 was truncating with the fader. If only I knew you could do this on the MP as well. Thanks for the tips

I didnt realise you had an MPC channel too! Good stuff man, looking forward to more💪

I’ve found another way to truncate. When you have the start or end value highlighted, hold shift and hit the left cursor twice. You’ll notice the milliseconds becomes I highlighted. Now when you move the data wheel it will move in bigger increments. I find you can be a bit more accurate and just as fast rather than using the slider. Shoutout to @electromagneticgoldstar for showing me this tip.

Man your XL is looking nice. When I discovered the shift slider thing for chops was a real game changer. I now use the slider to get near the start of the chop, then I click open window on the start which allows you to zoom right in. Dunno if you already know about this but it can give you super accurate chops

I do know about the zoom screen man yeah! Thanks though 👌

Bruh that vmpc is exactly like the real thing I actually had to look up videos because I forgot how tedious the workflow was

It's such a clean sampler that doesn't add color, so it's kinda like an MPC Live but with tedious file management. If you love the flow then you love the flow.

It have its own sound on the punchy mid rangy side. The 2k series are not neutral at all.

As sokn as you clip the input you’ll see the difoerence between older mpcs and live. Live can’t handle much clipping at all 🤣

It doesn't no, its really bare bones this one. I don't have the FX unit either but I can do processing with the SPs so not the biggest issue in the world

8 outs is an extra board which has an additional spdif in/out.
