Very important question. How do you assign the correct BPM sequence tempo, so that it matches the tempo of the sample whilst creating "a beat"? Thank you.
@88XLmusic6 ай бұрын
I basically don't worry so much about tempo. When I chop, I chop with the intention of being able to control the tempo and not necessarily follow a specific tempo. If I want. the song to be a slower BPM, i pitch down the sample chops. If I want it to be a higher BPM, i pitch up the chops. I can also show a technique in the daw that can help make any sample flip any tempo after it's out of the machine if you think that would be helpful.

@@88XLmusic, but what if you decided to use the sampled 8 step beat for example ... there is a way to get MPC determine the correct speed, but I haven't figured it out yet:)
@88XLmusic6 ай бұрын
@@karljanus8308 oh i know what you are referring to now. Yes I can make a video on that technique too.
@karljanus83086 ай бұрын
@@88XLmusicthat would be ace if you made a video about sampling entire loops and then using it as/in a sequence along with the other samples. MPC determining the speed is absolutely crucial in such cases

Use the tap temp button and then make adjustments thereafter if need be.

To upload the sample you connect the mpc 2000 to a turn table right? If not how does it work
@88XLmusic6 ай бұрын
yeah you have to connect the turntabel OUT to the MPC IN, or if you have a zip drive, you can convert your sample to 16bit in a DAW and load it onto the zip drive and load it straight into the MPC

Can you sample into the 2000xl without a disk?
@QuadrantBottomHalf4 ай бұрын
Elaborate more please.
@culturemax2344 ай бұрын
@QuadrantBottomHalf I want to know if I don't have a disk in the mpc can I still sample from vinyl into the mpc and make a beat even though I won't be able to save the sounds is it possible because I'm thinking I can play it live and record it in to me sp 303 but can I don't it if I don't have the disk inside the mpc or do I have to have a disk inside to be about to use the mpc

thats ok, i have a video breakdown of the pros and cons of this on my channel here kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGW3ZId9iJepldk it's definitely not for everyone, and there are much more advanced machines in modern times. I am just really enjoying learning a new tool and getting the sound out of it.

thanks for showing, but your production is not at all a "unique style" and your drum programming is really lame.
