Being agreeable. Don’t do it for “an ease life”, say what you gotta say, suggest what you really want to do - we can handle it!

Niceness is inauthentic and lacking energy. Kindness is a whole different realm and people often mistake the two. I’m kind, I’m not nice. Kindness is not telling people what they want to hear, it is delivering the information required with integrity and honouring of all parties. Being nice often includes not upsetting people, keeping the peace, making yourself small to keep others comfortable. When you are kind there’s room for others and for healthy boundaries to be maintained, and it’s an acknowledgement that needs, wants, desires are all mutually and explicitly required.

As a "nice girl" I feel so relieved after watching this! I can go out there and just speak my mind. Thanks Mark !

Mark: To your points I have to add that men often underestimate nice women and then get dumped by them.

1) thinking being nice is being a good person. Leads to poor boundaries and people pleasing. 2)making him feel like you’d never ever ever walk away. He will treat you bad if he can knowing you’ll never leave. 3) believing that receiving equals owing. Feeling like you have to pay back what you receive. 4) putting guy on pedestal. The more you do that, the more they look down on you.

#3!!! I listened to this 3x in a row - and I needed to really hear that. Almost 60 and still having problems with acknowledging that. Intuitively I've known this for a long time - but translating this into actuality is a different story. It's good to hear a man say THIS - rather than the "You owe me!" that I'm used to hearing [or perhaps only thought I was hearing, who knows...]. Definitely working on this - TY Mark! You rock!!!

Excellent video Mark! I’ve spent my life being a ‘nice girl’ and have fallen into each of these traps over and over. I am only now, in my 60s challenging myself to let these habits go. Thank you! 😊

Thank you Mark. A good self check video. I've got some adjusting to do. A nice guy habit i like is being a gentleman. Opening doors, arm wrapped around my back when entering a place, etc.

Thank you so much for bursting the bubble of this "unconditional love" thing! Each time when I say, that - other than with (most) parents - there is no such thing as unconditional love, people frown upon me and get quite uncomfortable sadly enough. In fact, "unconditional love" is quite unhealthy I've found, especially when it's not reciprocal. Many thanks for sharing all your insights once again. What a bunch of eye-openers again. "A gift is not a debt". Receiving does not equal owing. My my I so needed to hear that today. What a timing. Another gem: “Unfortunately live doesn’t rise to your goals, it falls to your standards” - ! If I may ask, could you post a vid on how to stay authenticate - and therefor not always a nice girl 😊 - while one is already in a relationship? Let's say one year in? How do you deal with an issue or a concern really that is just simply ignored/ whisked away/ denied etc and you have to bring it up again without becoming accused of being - let's say - annoying? I realize this vid also applies to relationships and not just to the dating phase, but maybe you could zoom into a bit. Thank you!

Number 2 🙌 The saying "unconditional love" always made me itchy. So glad to see you confirmed what I was thinking all this time! I keep saying this to every woman around me that love shouldn't be unconditional, even in friendships there shouldalways be conditions. The only type of love that should be unconditional is the love of a parent & child, nothing else.

Nice Guy habits- read “No More Mister Nice Guy,” By Robert Glover. A lot of men really struggle with this and it ruins relationships.

As predicted, I am not a nice girl. I have boundaries, I speak up, I follow my intuition, I know that people can be bad but don’t care enough to engage them or make excuses for them, I follow no contact rule with people, I can cut people off easily without looking back and I don’t believe that a man liking me is an excuse for poor behaviour. Mind you, for 27 years, I didn’t do this regularly. It wasn’t until a psychopath who wanted to pass his boring time, wanted to show me what a doc he can be, via MY friends and family, that I started cutting them off. I’m not an abnormal weirdo who searches for things to cancel people for. By nature, I’m just like any other extroverted social person who likes to have a good time and doesn’t waste time on pessimism and doesn’t annoy people. But once I do cut someone off, like other sane people, I also don’t allow them back in. This video should be common sense to people. It shouldn’t have to be taught. People should know better. They ought to know better. It’s a put off that some people don’t. No everyone doesn’t have the same definition but everyone agrees that crossing boundaries, abusing people and violating the law is not considered moral. Even abusive people don’t like to abuse. Even people who intrude on people’s privacy don’t want theirs to be intruded in.

In some cases, unconditional love does not exist from a parent to a child either... 😓

A behavior I often see in men is when I share an opinion on a random subject they either reply with "it's rubbish and this is how it really is" if they're not that into me, or agree with whatever I say and doesn't share their own perspective if they're falling in love. I find both these things turn offs because the first reaction is rude and the second reaction is born out of trying to please me. If they truly agree with me, it's great. But I find that many times it's a nice guy habit.

Mark 🙂🥰 I have tried this and obviously I am making people uncomfortable , "pleasing you is killing me" this is for narcissistists , this is why I have had enough of pleasing people who are the garbage they treat me as. . . I am a survivor so it sparks my personality to the aggressive level it can be because I feel as though my life 🧬 is being threatening so I am in survival mode still after Twenty-three years after I already survived what I did

I'm so sorry to hear that, Bianca. I understand how hard it must have been for you. I know you didn't deserve any of that. I am really glad and proud of you that you survived all that. Thank you for sharing! xx

I have been a 'nice girl' for my entire adult life so far. All of this advice is brilliant but I just feel like crying, honestly. My autistic brain is so rigid in the way I have shaped myself because I feel so damn worthless that I wouldn't even know where to begin. My biggest fear is coming across ungrateful or entitled. I just don't know where the line is between what is reasonable and too much. So I just decide to treat myself like shit instead because it's safer than making everyone hate me or potentially losing my partner. I crave the feeling of masculine energy from my man, but he seems so resistant to taking the lead. I don't want to feel like the man in my relationship.

Mark 🙂🥰 , you (anyone) , have to date/marry someone more like your 🥰 important currencies in your personality , wouldn't Mark 🙂🥰 agree like attracts like , although couldn't it be a bit disasterous if the main currency in your 🙂🥰 personality is your weak point and it's also a weak point for your love interest and then when you try put the relationship together and use your two weakest main currencies together , who is going to pull who out of the well if you both fall in together-?

This is literally why I don't believe in marriage!! Because a legally binding contract makes it so much harder to walk away if our boundaries are crossed and if we are disrespected 🙏 of course there's divorce, but why get married in the first case?
