Fun Fact: Lead singer Linda Perry went on to write iconic hits for the likes of P!nk, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears and so many others in the 2000s. Her résumé is crazy and she's such brilliance in simplicity. Three repeating chords under Linda's voice. '90s perfection.

If you turn on captions in YT you have the lyrics most of the time. Linda Perry the Lead singer is a songwriting legend. Wrote songs for a lot of artists and had many many hits. I iterpet the song as her frustration with the Male dominated recording industry execs. This was the bands only no 1 hit. The record company and the rest of the band wanted to make the second album the same as this song. Linda rejected them both and turned to writing hit songs for others. Notably Pink! Linda has has great success as a hitmaker.

Somehow, this song always manages to put me in a good mood, lift me up. Might be the key, melodies, chord progressions or all of the above. They were women, so you got it right. Lesbian women, I believe, for whatever that’s worth. Lead singer Linda Perry does have a low voice, so she doesn’t sound ultra girly. But she can also create so many vocal sounds, and does a lot here. As for their style, it was just the ‘90s. That’s when lots of people, girls included, wore big boots with dreads and jewelry. I knew girls with partially shaved heads (even took one on a date). Still have great memories of that time.
