@@aspotashev That's because Starcraft players are robots now. The creativity of the game is lost. Every game needs those that push the limits and get creativity instead of copy cat builds and style. That is why perhaps some of the OG pros now would not be as good to the scene but it was how they were that makes it fun. I still enjoy watching highlights of Slayers Boxer some 20 plus years later whereas majority of modern SC and SC2 1v1 are scripted like.

@ApexArlex 'x pool' means you send your xth drone to build a spawning pool. so '4 pool' means he doesn't build any drones when the game starts, he goes straight to spawning pool to zergling rush his opponent.

@JordanTylerDurland 4 Pool = with only 4 "supplies" worth of units on the field, he build a spawning POOL. same with 6 pool, 8 pool, etc. Spawning pools let you build attacking units. Proxy is when you place a building specifically hidden from the enemy, like a base in the corner of the map, or a barracks building near the enemy base where he hasn't seen it.

@pureDOGG A # pool rush is basically the number of drones before the Zerg player creates a Spawning Pool. For example, if you're going 4 pool, you're gonna have 4 drones by the time you're making the spawning pool.

I call luck on this one. Also zerg versus zerg has to do a lot with luck, building zergling concaves, then insane mutalist control then if the game reaches lategame, which is unusual, the player who hides a defiler and plagues his opponents 50 flyer unit force usually wins. Besides it being mostly luck, jaedong has like 80% ZvZ rating.

The objective of the build is to reduce the enemy drone count to zero or at least level the drone count of the enemy to the same drone count as the attacker. Yellow did a couple of mistakes. He saw those zerglings in advance. when he sent those 4 drones, it's task was supposed to buy more time for him to set up defenses..and it almost worked, JJ attacked the drones instead of a run by, thus giving him a small window.. yellow should have blocked the 2x2 ramp to allow more time..he also incorrectly placed the spine on the wrong area. Had he only spawned that in the middle, his mineral line would have been semi protected and he could have set up that other spine..

@2pro4ullll Do you always build 2-3 sunkens? If he had seen that the blue zerg wasn't creating drones, then it would make sense to build sunkens. However, in MOST scenarios, building sunkens is suicidal - you fall behind economically because each sunken means at least 3 drones lost: 125 minerals + drone used to create the sunken. Yellow zerg didn't scout the drones. He wanted to play macro, and paid for it.

The '4 Pool' does not refer to the number of Drones working... in order to do a 4 Pool in Sc2 you have to kill 2 of your Drones-> 4 Supply ->4 Pool. If you have 6 Supply, 4 Drones mining and 2 doing nothing-> still 6 Pool.

4pool is still done in ZvT sometimes to punish greedy builds. With a 4pool you can get your lings in before the wall is up.

@sdn14 If you notice he has 0 drones left and only one Sunken Colony(The base defense structure) he just says gg as he knows it's only a matter of time before his buildings fall too. Most players do that to not drag the game out when they know there's 0 chance of them winning. You won't win with just a few buildings and no minerals.

It is. 4pools rarely work at top play. To pull of a 4pool, you need to early scout your opponent and make sure that they haven't scouted you, yet. You also need to see that they're playing a macro game. If you fail a 4pool, you might as well surrender because you can't come back from it.
