4 Purple Belts Minted @ the Tristar Gym - Firas Zahabi

Congratulations to our newly minted purple belts!!! Purple belt is the hardest belt to achieve. It is the first advanced belt, you have to make the leap from recreational Jiujiteiro to full time dedicated student. You have to be thinking about Jiu-Jitsu around the clock, practice must be daily!
This is why it is such an honor to give out 4 new purple belt in one day. The last 2 years have been a difficult training period for us Montrealers with all the covid restrictions and shutdowns, none the less these four individuals found a way to keep improving! Congratulations Luca, Malik, Yanis and Jad!!!

Brought to tears just watching this. Been waiting on my purple belt for a few years and have never asked for it. Just knowing that someone believes you'll make it to the black belt level is such a huge compliment. Incredibly humbling and thank you for sharing. I think belt ceremonies have become one of my favorite human rituals in all honesty.

I understand it's an internationnal place and the graduates may come from other countries and Firas wants to address them in their language... still seems like Québec's culture is getting lost more and more.
