A new trainer a new manager and start making right decisions. They should’ve stopped the front door fight after the fourth round, it would’ve went to the scorecards and he was up on the cards and would’ve won that fight, big mistake number one, big mistake number two, not taking a tuneup fight and not scouting his opponent correctly. Nah Tim fought how he has always fought: try to pressure the opponent and break them down with sturdy form and heavy-handed combos that were not that fast or fluent. He fights like a GGG kinda guy, but not as good with distance management and footwork (this is probably why international amateur experience matters). This hurt him because Bakhram, who was a much taller guy, can throw combos very fluently. I commented in the weigh in video on Fight Hype that Bakhram was not as heavy-handed like Tim, and I stand by that comment. Tim, unfortunately, was hit by a left hook that landed so clean. Most who got clipped that clean dont recover. This is like how Demetrius Andrade lost to Benavidez despite arguably being up 4 rds. So it's not really the power that Bakhram possesses, but rather he can throw combos so fluently that a punch can sneakily land clean on you and there you go. I thought it was a 50-50 fight but well what do I know ...

Where was Tszyu's plan B? That was ridiculous to think he's going to walk through a boxer from the Caucasus who has a big reach advantage like that, for a starter, but you have to be ready to make an adjustment if needed. Obviously Tszyu is damaged from his previous fight in his mind, but a quality fighter learns from stuff like this & Tszyu should have the ability to come back better than ever from this. This is what happens with these types of fighters when they finally meet someone with equal power with good skills, so he has to improve his thinking to progress.
@iwant2usethisАй бұрын
He needs to get over the damage first and that's the tough part. Boxers aren't robots. They have mental and psychological wiring that can alter who they are - when damaged. His ego needed to be tweaked in order to believe he was the old Tszyu, yet boasting your ego is not the same as repairing the issues that forced you to use this tactic. He'll need to get some help with overcoming self doubt now. If it too entrenched, it could be over for him. Confidence is one of the most important factors in getting the ship on course. And can't be fake. It has to be authentic or it will break down at the first sign of weakness
@jackstarr4726Ай бұрын
@@iwant2usethis There's no reason for his career to be over, & that would be extremely unusual even in this age of super fragile egos. 3 months should be enough time to physically recover. The problem is he needs to learn patience & develop his defense better. But CAN he improve his defense as much as needed? He's extremely talented, but it was always likely he'd run into difficulties at the top level & his immaturity mentally has cost him - for now at least.
@giantgifts4248Ай бұрын
It's a tough one. Fighting Murtzaliev was a great opportunity though exposed significant weaknesses in Tim's style. Flat footed with little head movement. That's his style. I suppose if he'd like to continue on a hard road forward to be a contender again, it starts with regional fights. I'd like Tim to obviously improve his defence and ability to protect himself if he does get hit. A better jab. A better sense of distance from the opponents attack. Can improve on his jab and subtle side to side movements and covering and clinching if hit. What he does will be his decision. I do suspect he comes back one last time. It did appear obvious to me when he grabbed his head looking for blood that wasn't there that this is subconcious. Tim does need to rebuild and that is a hard thing to do. The better man won the fight. Tim has had a terrific career, made some money, won world title. How he would like to finish is up to him. I think have a few local Australian fights after a shot rest. Try one more time with a couple of subtle adjustments.

Now I hope casual boxing fans can see why Crawford had to change boxing style for the Madrimov fight. YOU CANNOT FIGHT EVERYONE THE SAME WAY, HOPING YOU WILL KNOCK EVERYONE OUT! Just being able to come forward rough and rugged is all well and good, but what happens when you run into someone just as tough and as rugged as you, but knows how to box??? This is where the ability to change style, so your opponent cannot read, time and counter you. This is where just coming forward with brute strength and power cannot work. You now need to have boxing skills, ring IQ and ring generalship in your arsenal. Tim Tszyu and PBC thought they were going to BLOCK OUT TERRENCE CRAWFORD, WITH THE HELP OF SPENCE AND FUNDORA......BUT THAT NOW CANNOT HAPPEN!!! You will see how Crawford deals with Bakhram. Bud is going to school him, outbox him, beat him up AND MAKE IT LOOK EEEEAAASY!!!
@franklinsainthustle5285Ай бұрын
💯
@iwant2usethisАй бұрын
I doubt very seriously that Bud will make it look easy. However the basis of your argument is spot on. Boxers at this level, need to be able to adapt and find their pursuit of their opponent within the scope of their abilities. Tsyzu took a terrible whipping in his fight aganst Fundora. Mentally he's still suffering and he needed to get past that before he was able to take on someone like Bakhram. Spence will have the same issues with Fundora. Once he gets in trouble that window will open to his failings against Crawford, and doubt will set in. And once doubt takes hold, that window will open up wider and he may not be able to turn it around, whether he has other options or not. Crawford has the IQ to know what he's up against and the ability to adapt. Yet his last fight with Madrimov was no walk in the park, that scoring could have gone either way. And although my bias is not as blind as your's - he'll need to fight better than he did against Madrimov - going forward or there'll be no major payday against Canelo. Good comments though, with a little too much hero worshipping sprinkled here and there. Boxing at this level is unpredictable especially when you're getting long in the tooth and moving up too heavier weight classes

Like his father, he cant handle strong guys whom stand toe to toe and come forward, as hatton did to his father! Ali was a master at beating stronger guys that come forward. But who has Ali skill speed and toughness!
@AndrewMessick-wf2ykАй бұрын
Tim is still young. He has the heart and desire. He just needs to surround himself with the right people. If he really wants it he can come back from this. Fundora fight TERRIBLY mishandled. This fight should not have been taken yet and the preparation was awful. He does have the skill. I wish he could get with Buddy McGirt. I really believe he could get something special out of this guy. I am not saying the best ever ......but could turn this into a good career and make some special fights

Tim needs to stop thinking about titles. The way back is a new reputable trainer and a rematch with Fundura (even if he loses to Spence).

A major concern is the promoter’s talking about Tim’s next fights instead of concentrating on this one

After the 1st round, tsyu had already read the situation but wasnt smart enough to admit and change the game plan. Murtazaliev is like a younger beterbiev.

@@a-trax3971 Hey I agree the Rose brothers are farking noobs but don't go thinking old Timmy boy didn't have a say and the IBF made him a mandatory for Murty. I don't always agree with Porter neither but what he just said sums it up...Tim came in thinking he was gonna walk Murty down from the get go...totally ignored what lead to the first knockdown and did the same in the second round...not Rose's fault. One things for sure old Murty has some HD punch power.

I mean, the same approach worked pretty good in all his last fights. I think he just never really recovered from the first left hook that dropped him.

Tim got schooled in what not to do too a fast, athletic powerful fighter. He just walked straight into half them punches. Hos corner did the only good thing they have done for years and threw in the towel. He needs a new team around him i think. This team isnt up to getting him through the big fights in the US.

What's glaring to me is Tim Tsyzu's lack of basic fundamental defensive skills. No head movement or footwork.

I don't see how Tszyu was the favorite in this fight. How did he think he could go in there and just walk this guy down? Tszyu's team has shown very poor judgment twice in a row, including the Fundora fight. Fighters need to be realistic and stop falling for the hype put on them.

I don't know whether his corner or his father is to blame, because Kostya was a different animal than his son. His style was to come forward and brawl, but unlike Tim, Kostya didn't care if he was cut. Tim checked twice. That's the typical sign of the heart of a Western raised fighter. Shawn seemed to have a lot to speculate on what might have gone wrong, but imo, Tim showed up with amateur behaviors. Seasoned and great fighters use the first 2 to 3 rounds to assess and then adjust. Tim needed 3 lessons in the 2nd round and then a 4th lesson in the 3rd and still didn't adjust. He can't hope to beat the Spences, Crawfords let alone Fudora's with that mentality

Man… Tim was gifted a vacant belt. Lost his first title defense against an unathletic opponent with a low boxing IQ who hadn’t fought in a year and was KOed in his last fight. And was brutally destroyed by the only champion that he’s fought in his career.

Everyone is saying that Tim was arrogant and overlooked his opponent. Great! But they are deluded and missing some very important point. This guy is a wrecking ball and if Tim was to fight him 10 times he would loose all.

So disappointing to see because Tim definitely has the talent to put in a winning performance against him. Just walked in from opening bell thinking he could walk through him with no regard for getting caught and got shlapped. Where’s the damn clinch too!

gotta study your opponent, protect yourself and adapt to the situation. Dude need a new coach and trainer. The promoters are stupid for not jumping on the Saudi train and taking them Riyadh bucks as well. Far too cocky, all of them.
