Anthony great video once again I completely agree with the quarter note philosophy we get so stuck on hitting two and four especially in a rock format I'm a player who has one foot in jazz and one foot in metal as I love both formats equally I want to make three positive points to your video First you need to be able to switch between major and minor pentatonic every great blues guitar player has the ability to do it and is a bass player You need to have that ability also chromatic runs of any nature also are key to the format Second you have to make it swing if it doesn't swing it sounds terrible my best advice to people to learn playing blues is play along with the records pick who you want to Freddie King Eric Clapton etc Third another alternative is to use the natural minor scale to walk in again it gives you more possibilities than just playing a straight minor pentatonic

Love your little improvs at the start of your videos. Hope you're disinfecting your bass at least twice a day! :) Stay well man.

It always amuses me how you sing while you play, and not like some gibberish but an actual consistent, synchronized in-key singing. Does that ability allow you to *think* with music? Like, can you think of a lick just by singing it to yourself and then replicate it on bass? Does it have other advantages? You seem to use it mostly while soloing/improvising, so I guess it boosts your creativity a bit? Would love to hear your opinion on that. Thanks for your work on these tutorials, your yt chanel is a goldmine

man, just wanted to say that you're one of my favorite youtube content creators. You play really well and teach really well too. And what's more impressive is that you said that bass isn't even your main instrument (if i remember that correctly). Your sound is so clean and well articulated.

Bootsy Collins' method for playing the funk is just make sure you play on the down beat of one. Everything that comes after that is the funk.
