John from www.discountjuicers.com/ explains the top 4 reasons why you shouldn’t buy a high speed centrifugal ejection juicer such as the breville juice fountain, as well as many juicers offered at department stores.
In this episode, John will explain why he no longer uses centrifugal ejection juicers and why you shouldn’t either if you are juicing for health.
First, you will discover how a high-speed centrifugal ejection juicer creates juice and how a vertical slow juicer makes juice out of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Next, John will juice identical amounts of produce in each machine including apples, collard greens, and beet to show you how each machine works.
You will then learn the visual differences between the juice created in the centrifugal ejection juicer and the vertical slow juicer.
John will reveal what the juiced pulp looks like on the high-speed juicer and the low-speed juicer so you can see which juicer was more efficient at juicing the fruits and vegetables in this demonstration.
Finally, John will share his top 4 reasons why you shouldn’t buy a centrifugal ejection juicer.
In the comparison graph shown:
White Bar is Slow Juicer
Black Bar is High-Speed Juicer
Grey Bar is Blender
After watching this episode you will learn some of the top reasons you may not want to purchase a centrifugal ejection juicer and a few reasons why you might want to purchase one.

Hi John, I have the exact Breville juicer that you're reviewing. I bought it about 5 to 6 yrs ago(high $300's). I'm not sure they had the slow juicers at that time. Needless to say, I was not happy with it due to the very same reasons: It was quite noisy, some of the veges/fruits would not juice completely and would come to in chunks(especially ginger & cucumber), and the pulp was usually very wet. I was searching for a replacent and came across your chanel reviewing the Omega NC800 vs the older Omega models. I was sold after your review, so I went ahead and purchased the NC800. I couldn't be more pleased, both with its performance and clean-up. Your reviews are very thorough and honest and I've referred several family mbrs and friends to your chanel so they can be informed consumers and support your business. Thanks for all you do.

Yes the slow juicer is a better appliance when it comes to making a high quality juice!!! However the breville is the best centrifugal machine out that will give the highest yield, for somebody that's starting out coming off soda,artificial sweeteners and bottled juices it's a start.. ideally it's good to have both for different applications!!

I agree the Breville is a good value entry level machine, and therefore suitable for people who are just getting into juicing, or don't juice often, but where did you read that it has the highest yield among centrifugal machines?

Hey John! I'm in Canada and have been a long time watcher of your videos. I'd love to support you in buying a vertical slow juicer but don't know if you can ship it to here. Love these comparisons that show us what most just can't. Thanks for all you do! :)

John, I own both a Slowstar and a Lequip 215xl. I find myself using them about equally. One thing I've noticed is that you don't take the machines apart to show use of everything was utilized. I've noticed quite often that when I take my Slowstar apart, there will be a decent sized chunk of cucumber around the auger that never got juiced. This doesn't tend to happen in my Lequip (and if it doesn't it's more like a sliver than a good sized chunk). Also it is true that the centrifugal juicer makes a cleaner juice, and by that I mean way less pulp in the juice. And also the mesh screen on the Slowstar does get clogged up, this isn't just a problem for the centrifugal style juicer. Also, I disagree with your method of juicing leafy green thatvive seen in other videos. Obviously if you turn on the Lequip or similar juicer and drop baby spinach in it, most of it will be shot out the back. But try this: cut up some small pieces of apples and out then into the chute while the juicer is off. Now PACK a couple handfuls of spinach on top. Turn the machine on and then juice it, and you'll see how green the juice comes out. Because the apples don't allow the spinach to simply fall into the grater without getting juiced.

You weighed the veggies before you juiced them. Seems like if you weighed the leftover pulp from each juicer you could have calculated exactly how much juice was extracted by each. I have a Breville. When I juice leafy veg, I use the slower speed setting and it does a better job. I don't have as many chunks of un-juiced veggies in my pulp because I don't jam the veg through as fast as it will go. I nudge it through more slowly. The Breville also does a very good job of juicing sugar cane from my garden as long as the cane is prepared properly (peeled and joints removed).

Hi John. I was wondering if you could shine your light on this question. I normally make juice (Kuvings Elite C7000) and then poor the juice in the blender and blend it with an avocado. Does the quality of the juice decrease because it is shaken around in the blender? Thanks and regards from Amsterdam, Steven

YES. When you make the juice in the slow juicer, there is minimal oxidation done to the juice. When you put it in the blender, the juice is now exposed to massive amounts of oxidation. I recommend using a vacuum blender to minimize degradation when blending. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zn_dZmh5rb2cadk

What's a good commercial juicer for the right price?
@discountjuicers

depends on your specific needs, and the volume you are making. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3-6gJaCbJhpjZI Is a good commercial juicer if your volume is not too high and you do not require NSF

But you missed an important point. The slow juicer has less pulp because most of it is still in the juice. I don’t want a pulpy juice..if I did I would make a smoothie. If you strain the juice would you end up with the same amount as the centrifugal juicer?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 6 жыл бұрын
In many cases, this is correct, a slow juicer will add more pulp in the juice, that can be strained out if desired. That being said, I would rather strain the pulp or just drink it and have a more nutritious juice.

There's no reason for anybody to sell a centrifugal juicer either :p I can't believe some youtubers still use the centrifugal ones. Dan the life regenerator used one for the longest time before he used the tribest greenstar.

I have a centrafigual juicer and I hate it. It wastes alot of my Fruit vegetables. Also after I juice I always have to squeeze my pulp and I get sometimes 8 oz extra.

Just remember you are listening to a biased slow juicer salesman. Here are some FACTS. 1. Test yield should be done by Weighing after Straining. The Slow Juicer puts tons of pulp in the juice. It does not have a high yield. 2. Breville should be run on slow for leafy greens. It actually produces good yield on greens if used correctly. 3. The Breville gives a much higher yield on hard produce. 4. Both machines made foam on the top. Test have shown that the foam is not in the juice on either machine. Red Herring.

I would like to respond to your comments. While I am a slow juicer salesperson, I also sell the fast juicers. My life was changed by juicing, and it is clear to me that the slow juicer is superior for my needs. I understand many people may own a breville (or other high speed juicer) and want to defend the juicer they love. Responding to your points: 1. Yield may vary between a fast or slow juicer, mainly depends on what is being juiced. In general, the fast juicer will yield MORE on carrots and hard vegetables than a slow juicer. the fast juicer will make LOWER yield on leafy greens, and in many cases fruit. 2. Many fast juicers do not have a slow speed, but only one speed. Although running a breville on slow speed, will increase the yield on greens, it still can not compete with a slow juicer in terms of yield. 3. This point is true. That being said YIELD is only one factor that should be taken into consideration. Juice quality is another one that is more important to me than just yield. 4. Yes, while both machines did produce foam, the breville, due to its higher speed produces more foam.

I’ve always heard the centrifugal juicer destroys enzymes and vitamins because it generates heat. Yet when I use one my juice is cold, and when I use my masticating one it’s not. (Using Vegetables and fruit straight from the fridge). That confuses me.
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 6 жыл бұрын
Centrifugal juicers do not heat the juice when starting with cold produce based on my testing. a true masticating juicer such as the champion juicer can heat the juice a tiny bit especially if the blades are dull. a slow juicer such as a auger or twin gear juicer will make a juice with no significant temperature difference based on my testing and experience.
