What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the phrase self-care? Do you think of a bubble bath or a treadmill session or going to a spa, or something else entirely?

Self-care is doing something that makes you feel good, something that brings you joy.

I like to color with classical music on in the background. Even if it’s a simple children’s coloring book. 😊 So easy to do with family around. Doesn’t require concentration. No big set up, no babysitter needed, no prepping meals before you leave. 😉💕

P.s. I initially wrote a sad, negative comment about how I no longer have a dream or any idea what brings me joy. But I decided to step up, add something to the discussion and come up with one thing! 😃💕AND I actually did! 😉

What I have noticed is that when I get super tired …usually at the end of the day I get very mean and irritable . I just thought I was a bad mom. Turns out I was just tired mom. Nowadays I just don’t allow myself to get too tired. I stop and drop everything am doing aslong as nobody will die and I retire to bed. If I know am going to have a busy day . I plan a bubble bath at the end of the day with candles , a series, snacks , some wine 🍷 to replenish myself. Am so grateful to have come across this lifestyle. Self care has been life changing. Thank you Laura

I'm fairly new to this, but I'm finding that when I'm more irritable and short, I'm asking myself "how's your self care?" It's usually a sign I need to stop and make time for self care (coffee, reading, a podcast, Bible, prayer, etc.)

Some of my favorite Self Care activities are: relaxing at home alone and watching a favorite TV show; going to the thrift store; meeting my aunt for manicures, shopping, or beach combing; meditating; being around cats and dogs (I LOVE animals!); reading; decorating for seasons and holidays; listening to old records and singing along in my kitchen; hand-sewing and embroidering vintage Christmas ornaments ❤

❤I love this, thank you for writing your book, I really needed the instruction and encouragement......it goes down like a spoonfuls of sugar because you make me laugh, my husband and I spend 95 percent of our time together so when you said even their breathing bothers you, I totally get that....and a new way, besides guilt to deal with it. Thank you Laura.

Laura I’ve read your books and they have been so helpful and challenging to me. It’s like I’m learning a new language and have to refer back to your teachings to correct my actions. I’m so glad I found your KZbin channel! I loved this video. Thank you for all you do! I’m a wife, mother to 3 little children and work part time as a RN. Your books and thought resonate with me and I want to get “fluent” in them bc I’ve seen the great impact on me and my husband.
