Is there any benefit to getting as low as possible as long as you're rigid to create more drive at the launch. Are you low as possible or low as comfortable; or could you go lower?

What are the benefits of taping your hands together, as you have in the video. Does it help flick the shot, or is it there to give your throw more strength?
@OfficialWageGap Жыл бұрын
The goal with taping fingers together is to support them, as more force is applied to the shotput it puts a lot of stress on the fingers. If nothing is applied to them, most likely the fingers will break or tendons will tear.
@cobbler882 жыл бұрын
I've gotten the best advice from this channel as someone who just started competing in shot put a few weeks ago as a "senior" (50+). I completely understand why the video had to be shot this way. With one camera, it seems like the best choice. I think it would have also helped if there could have been a few overhead shots. At times it became a little difficult to figure out the body positioning at the end of each of the steps, going into the next, and to nail down the orientation of the circle.
@johnbowmandiscus2 жыл бұрын
A.J I appreciate your support! I agree, some overhead shot would be really helpful. I think getting a drone is in my future. That will help create some really useful shots.

I just have one question, if anyone ever see this. Isn't stepping outside of the ring a scratch/failed attempt? I just need clarification because I plan on using this method to go to the Arizona state finals. If anyone would reach out, that'd be lifesaving!
@aminedaki9158 Жыл бұрын
This is what I found: The athlete may touch the inside surface of the circle or stop board, but must not touch the top or outside of the circle or stop board, or the ground beyond the circle. Limbs may however extend over the lines of the circle in the air.
