Very nice build. I built one on the blue Kent frame from wort mort. Top speed of 30. Starts first or second pull. Came with a bad spark plug. Alignment was perfect never used the tensioner. I mounted it out of the way on the bike just in case.

@@goose278 it's my aim to have a four stroke engine. I've had the wee 49cc two stroke chinese thing for 12 years now, it still runs okay on the flats😊😉 it's lost it's power for the hilly bits😆😂😂 I tried a longer pipe which increased the power, yet the tick over had to be stupidly high to prevent it from stalling when stopped in traffic😆😅😂 plus, the clangity clang of the two stroke gets a bit much after 20 minutes🤔🥴😜 great inspiration, thank you...

I switched to a heavier chain, 415H is a scooter chain, much beefier. Installed a different front wheel with a brake disk and welded the caliper to the fork, it really stops with authority now. they do require decent tools to install and theyre fiddly , need regular work but loads of fun on the snowmobile trails up here in Maine.

You may have had a chain issue. My kit came with an out-of-spec 415 chain. When I laid it alongside a 41 chain, the 41 was longer until at the end of about 4.5 feet, the 41 was 3/8 to about 1/2 longer than the 415 with the same number of links. The length or pitch of the links on the 41 and 415 is supposed to be 1/2 inch on both, exactly equal, which it wasn't.

@dehoedisc72474 жыл бұрын
If the bike is in motion, some cooling should take place, as it does with the uncooled 2 stroke engines, however on my 4 stroke engine I prefer the well engineered intact cooling system. The factory design cools the engine at all times, whether moving through the air, or not.

I have the same 53cc kit with the exact same problems as you. My chain won't operate smoothly, and my center bolt on the large pulley was also loose. I have ordered a 41 chain and I'm hoping it will solve the chain issue. Any advice on the chain problem? And where did you buy a new small drive sprocket?
@goose2783 жыл бұрын
I have had no chain issues since that but the engine and sprocket were out of alignment a bit and the new hub mount for the rear sprocket fixed the tight and loose issue. I still have the stock front sprocket. The motor is still running great.

Ive yet to build a motorized bicycle, but at 00:28 can you explain what this is and why it was included in the slide show? Is this sprocket assembly standard or was this custom? If custom, why did you go custom and not go the standard sprocket assembly route?
@goose278 Жыл бұрын
Hey Chris! That is a rag joint it's not a very good sprocket assembly but it comes with the kit. In another video I have it shows the better route to go, it clamps around the Hub and it's not as wacky as that. that is very hard to get set perfectly. The Hub mount is not that expensive and it's definitely the way to go

@@thakoalaking5022 They most definitely do :) there are fins under the cover that hosts the rope-pull start, and the cover is molded to direct the air where it needs to go. Unlike the 2 stroke kits that only get air-cooled when in motion, the 4 stroke kits are being cooled even during idle
