A 139QMB carb for a 49cc gy6 really wakes up that little motor. i upped the jet to a #80 and it has so much power the clutch slips even at high speeds. the bfg upgraded clutch solved that problem and I can go up hills with no trouble. my motor is on a schwinn scooter so there is no pedal assist. I cut the muffler off the pipe and welded on a briggs 8hp sausage mufffer and that made even more power.

The primary reduction drive is chain and is a 3-1 and is for the Pit and Pocket bikes on small wheels. Ideal is a 6-1 reduction like the T-belt ones. If you can fit a 56t rear sprocket, this should bring the ratio close to where it should be and ease the clutch and pedaling on hills. I have a 39cc OHV 4st engine outboard LHS by the rear wheel. it is a geared reduction of 6-1 and till have a 48t sprocket due to the engine size.

You should be able to start from rest by just twisting the throttle without pedaling. Also it should be able to handle hills without pedaling as well. I can see what you are missing is the choke switch, which is the white plastic that you didn't touch at all, and is left at the closed position all the while, that's why you're not getting enough power. You are supposed to close it when cold-starting the engine, and then open when it's already running, where the bike can be operated like a regular scooter. With the choke operational and you still have the same issues, then your centrifugal clutch is faulty.

I would like to have you explore the cause of the clutch vibration issue. The other “farm” video did not seem to have as big of a problem with his engine.??. Covering the engine to ride “cloaked” is a good idea, so something light but not easily combustible is my vote. How about a thin sheet of tin or even that stuff plummers use to keep flooring and what not from burning when sweating copper joints? Just ideas of the top!

I saw some unusual bicycle fairing kits that might suit your purposes. Ever consider 2x motors on a 3wheel or tadpole recumbent bicycle?

You Should Do A E Bike Or One of Them E Bike Conversion, That Would Be Really Cool

I also dont like those clutches, you can get a go cart clutch off amazon for like $50-$70. They are belt driven and act like an automatic transmission. Ive heard they dramatically affect the torque and top end of a 4 stroke.
@NoNonsenseKnowHow3 жыл бұрын
Yeah they are definitely kind of junky. Is that a direct bolt on to this engine? I'll have to look in to one
@thaddeusgettys27263 жыл бұрын
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow They really should, some of them have to have a small part of it grinded off to fit. But a lot of them come with that part already missing.

(' * ?* .. HEY THAT WAS GREAT ) ( we like to see more, we just saw your video of the trip, when you road to New York. Quite a long ride and we wouldn't deny, you get a great big thumb Up 👍 for ROLLING ( X )) your wheel the four stroke you build it's really a Ideal . have you thought of installing a jack shifter on the four stroke motor bike frame, you might have the room. Me I would go with a Beach Cruiser Style frame, I would try building on that a much comfortable ride when your seating up right, you know that front suspension fork off that bike may fit any cruiser style frame for a more comfy ride . THE SET UP Your set up is good it's a start to Better and Nicer Bike Build. We like TO SEE VIDEOS AND STUFF like this over here in TUCSON AZ. GOOD VIDEO YO.

Thanks man. And yeah mopeds are definitely much safer! This thing certainly kind of cool and gets incredible fuel mileage though. I did two other parts to this video as well.

Did the project farm build have a wobbly pedal sprocket also?

Widen the pedal crank bearing retainer. For that pedal extension to make pedal crank bearings last

Actually use tapered roller bearings on the pedal crank.

Would it be better for the hub at the back to be a modern disk hub for bikes and machine a sprocket big enough to sit on the disk brake holes to make it a better built sprocket? Maybe alignment issues would occur. Also your rockhopper looks the part.
@arksrandom5968 Жыл бұрын
The issue with a rear brake disc is the little amount of space you have available to actually put one in, if you DO however have enough space then you need a sprocket adapter for the rear wheel hub and then a disc brake adapter that can be bolted onto the sprocket itself
@niteshades_promise11 ай бұрын
It's way better to use 6 bolt disc hubs. Sprocket+spacer+ disc=zero headaches. Don't forget loctite. 5 years zero issues.🍻
