My cousin in Indiana has a neighbour who acts like a complete utter dickhead with his rifle. So frankly, I don’t blame Michigan for trying to thin the herd of people who really shouldn’t have anything more lethal than a water pistol. It’s not about persecuting on HHonors it’s about trying to thin down the number of people have access to guns who shouldn’t have. Let’s face it. Do you really want gun store staff to sell a weapon to somebody who shouldn’t have one, only for that person to then go and do nasty things. That seems a whole lot of deeply unpleasantness. I know it’s a pain in the backside, but look at this way. If it saves one life then it’s worth it .

The Conservative government of the time had the balls to take on the far on this industry and get rid of handguns for use by the general civilian population. As a result we’ve not had a school massacre since. You can get a license to have a shotgun or a rifle for hunting purposes. But generally most countries, including my own did not require the civilian population to walk around like a they are inn a failed state.

A veteran i worked with at the gun counter had a guy bring a draco in to sell, and the customer pointed it at my fellow workers belly, when he cleared it it had one in the chamber! Never seen a customer get cussed at in such a way by the vet, he told me later it would have pissed him off to survive sll those deployments in the middle east to die of a gut shot from a shitty ak from a customer

I've purchased a lot of guns from pawn shops most of the time when I asked if they can go any lower they look at me like I just insulted their dead grandma. Yep I trade often and I do the same . I walk in and just ask how they want it . I use the same rifle case when I go try to do some bartering so I have a handful of chamber flags even . So I use them to be fancy .

My favorite question to as is always “would you buy it? Why/why not?” My father no matter the situation will always say the sights are canted or something of the sort . In his mind the gun gets a decent inspection from the gunsmith before he buys it haha . Old farm guys are a trip.

In a matter of 30 seconds he flashed half the store and had dropped the pistol on the floor twice. I get flagged by gun counter employees consistently. Ive learned not to care anymore because the guns are not only unloaded but have a lock on the trigger. Tbf I avoid gun shops/ranges when they start being weird/strict.

Two red flags at the gun counter are folks that ask if there’s any way they can avoid dealing with a waiting period (if the state requires one), and folks that drop guns on the counter or throw them back on the rack if they don’t like them. If they can’t treat a firearm they don’t like with even some level of care, it already gives me a stereotypical opinion of the double standards they set between guns they like and what they don’t like.

The lowest price on used guns isn't always posted I went to a local shop asked the guy on a BLR 22 Walnut stock and got it $15 cheaper it was used but still just because it's a listed price doesn't necessarily mean that's ever a set price

Tell me you've never legally bought a gun before without telling me you've never bought a gun before. Any and every single licensed firearms dealer HAS TO DO A FEDERAL BACKGROUND CHECK. Nonnegotiable, unless they want to lose their dealers license and spend 15 - 20 in a federal prison. It's not gonna happen. There's no gun show loophole, background checks are mandatory. Period. My state does federal and local background checks, I imagine alot of other states does it as well.

Response was that they dont make much on pistols and could not. I said i understand and made the purchase. 2 months later at that shop the same pistol was listed at $300

Prices can change and some do fairly rapidly. I’ve even priced stuff at market then a month later I’m under priced. Happens both ways. Also if it’s new, manufacturers run promotions sometimes to dealers and they can pass the savings to you

Because of the amount of shit that must have to take dealing with people who forget that a gun is a deadly weapon, not a toy. I’ve seen videos were gone store. Staff have a pot were the rounds, the finding that supposedly unloaded guns.

Look if you bring a gun into a gun shop for any reas9n and intend to show it or talk business about it...one should always have it unloaded cleared of the chamber and if the gun has the ability lock the chamber open. If you flgun does not habe the feature to lock open get a chamber flag. And it would help to have it in a case. If ua domt wamt to spend a bunch of money or carry a bulky case for such a short interaction then one can by a very cheap and simple pistol case that is just basically some cushion wotha slzippern on it...on that note folks. Stay safe stay loaded amd stay aware amd prepared. And shoot straight and only give it up from frozen fingers and hot brass castles. But remember the bot brass keeps them fingers well thawed.

I have one for the person behind the counter!😂 Make sure the firearm you give to the potential buyer is unloaded! About ten years ago, a guy asked to see a marlin .22 and when the guy behind the counter gave it to him, the man reached for the rifle with his keys in his hand. One of the keys pushed the trigger and bang! Every face in that store turned pale white and 10 seconds later the faces turned tomato red! Both guys were at fault, but that rifle should not have had a cartridge in that chamber. Even funnier yet!, that man was my hunters Ed instructor when I was 9 years old. 😂 p.s. other than egos, nobody was hurt!

I only shop at my local store in my small town he has the best prices all the time I’ve been in there 100s of times I’ve become friends with them i go there just looking around and hanging out with the 2 guys in there talking alot and when I bring in a gun i still walk in and let him know that im bringing something in just because there could be costumers there that might feel weird they always tell me just bring it in no problem but i still let them know before bringing it in and to make them feel even safer i put the mag on my pocket slide or bolt locked to the back if its a rifle or pistol i grab it from the stock/brace/buffer tube if it’s a handgun it’s either in a case or in a holster on my hand where they can see it

I've helped at CCW classes and my experience there made me stop and say CCW permitting is no where near good enough Don't get me wrong, I will die on the hill for the 2A, and I firmly believe that we should all own firearms, but the lack of understanding the basic firearms rules is absolutely a thing. You go into a gun store to check out a gun, it's taken out of the counter by employee, CLEARED, handed to customer slide to the rear who proceeds to check it out and barrel happens to go in the general direction of other customers and some moron freaks out. Has not happened to me, but I've seen it several times. Use some common sense people! I know that's a shit ton to ask of someone in 2023 but FFS! There's safe, and there's totally unnecessary and stupid overboard safe. All ya gotta do is unload your shit prior to entry if you're selling and don't purposefully point a gun at someone. Handle with care, and leave your safety swastika armband in your vehicle.
