I've spent a lot of time, and money printing, leraning, calibrating monitor, making profiles and everything was still wrong. Finally I've found out where was my problem. At least I think so. I've printed a Adobe RGB on different papers. Then I've reset my mind and changed my workflow like that: Open print in LRoom, Switch to soft proofing mode, Turn on DESTINATION GAMUT WARNING, and switch between icc profiles to see wchich paper/papers cover all or most of colors of your image [no warning areas or minimum]. Then I convert image to that color profile, if needed I do last small adjustments and print. It seems to work better than anything I've tried before. Please let me know what you think about that workflow.

Thank you for your message, I think if the workflow works for you then keep using it, everyone is different. I may say that there maybe something else going on but if its work don't change it. Tim

Thank you for this interesting and informative video. One question, if I may: for the purpose of the final print, does it matter what color temperature your screen is calibrated to (6500 vs 5000K)? Should it be based on the color temperature of the light the print will be viewed in (which can vary considerably, depending on where it is shown)? I find 5000K to be pretty warm on screen but I understand that it’s the standard color temp for printing. Any comment/suggestion? Thank you!

5000K is generally used as the standard for CMYK printing as understand it, someone please correct me if not. For photography I have always been taught and told to use 6500k. But really may we should be all adjusting the temperature for each environment the work will be displayed in. Not that practical though. Tim

HI Tim, I am trying to print on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl which ICC data sheet states to use the media setting "Baryta Photo Paper" and I can easily select this on the Canon print software. When I place the paper in the manual tray the printers LED screen gives me the option to register the paper and it is showing "Baryta Photo Paper". Problem is that it won't let me register it, when I try to register this selection, it simply goes back to the setting it was on previously. Any ideas if it is possible to register "Baryta Photo Paper" on the printer? At the mo I have to select "Baryta Photo Paper" on the canon software on PC but am forced to select/register "lustre" or "heavyweight photo paper" on the actual printer, which I believe is a close alternative. Or do I just make sure all selections are right on the Canon software and not bother with the paper selection on the printer itself apart from the paper size. Thanks.
