I've always struggled on doing well forearmstand, specially without wall support, until I started doing your yoga videos, thank you so much Partick!

Thank you. Very helpful, especially the way to prepare the hands & muscles for it.

For the 1st time I casually felt my leg coming up when hoping in dolphin - so happy and grateful! Didn't succeed on the 2nd hop haha but now I know I can do it! Thank you so much for these great steps, really helpful!

thank you for the instructions. After 4 months I was able to get up in this posture. Now I need the wall to prevent me from tipping over. I don't know what tot do to avoid this and stand free, training abs?

Nice simple warm up routine. I also practice fore-arm pose daily. My warm up routine is a set of Soorya Namaskara, A forearm fold and 2 to 3 backbends and a spinal twist ( holding the hand at the back,whatever it is called) . Sometimes it can be funny watching people use blocks and wheels , reminding you of pure calisthenic rather than the aesthetic of Yoga. Thank you.

Nice job. I found my biggest problem was my shoulders not quite being flexible enough and doing lots of prepping like PB is showing is the secret. The balancing at the end is relatively easy when you have a real solid base and core from lots of dolphin

These were great tips. However, my arms don't stay parallel, they tend to come inwards towards each other. When I try to keep a slight distance my arms pain a lot. So is it ok to keep the arms closer?

hi patrick. Pascimottanasana is not a posture suitable to lengthen the hamstriings. It only lengthens the hamstrings of people who already have this muscle long. A while ago, an Alexander practitioner wrote an article that circulated around FB to explain why pascimottanasana is risky... and I totally agreed with him. There are actually only 3 to 4 postures that effectively lengthen the hamstrings. Pascimottanasana is not among them. Warm regards
@patrickbeachyoga8 жыл бұрын
+yogayantra Dominique Thanks for your comment. I have actually seen this Alexander based article and appreciate you mentioning it. In preparation for pinchamayurasana the expansion of the entire backline of the body is very important and allows us to create the shapes and angles necessary to enter the pose with as little momentum as possible. Because of this, I find paschimottonasana to be a very helpful posture as long as we continue to not over arch the low back and focus on the appropriate pelvic tilt. If the hamstrings & low back do not allow for the appropriate stretch and forward bend in paschimottonasana, then pincha is likely not a an appropriate (or necessary) posture for you at this time.
@yogayantra8 жыл бұрын
+yogayantra Dominique Thanks for your reply Patrick. I repeat: there is much better. Here the hamstrings are important: anyone with tight hamstrings will have to jump into the posture, making it more difficult to catch up with the balance. Definitely, long hamstrings is an asset. But pascimottanasana is NOT the best posture for that: as I said, it can only stretch the hamstrings of someone who, already, has long hamstrings! We have, in the range of asanas, 3 or 4 better asanas for that.
@yogayantra8 жыл бұрын
+yogayantra Dominique Ardha hanumanasana, uttanasana (bottom against a wall, feet 60 cm away from the wall), supta padangusthasana. watch Lisa Huck's videos to see her methods to lengthen tight hamstrings. She is very knowledgeable in anatomy. Supta padangusthasana:; dont grab your big toe, use a strap rather. Lisa Huck has a method to stretch each of the 3 muscles that make up the hamstrings. hard to explain with words, a clip would be more appropriate

Buddy, there's nothing more of a turn-off than being asked/told to like something before I try it. That's one reason I would not subscribe to a channel that does this. Loss of focus and respect.
