trailer queen - the car that gets towed everywhere either because it does not run well or its a show car that can't be driven. this is similar to the garage queen. Can also be applied to "street cars" that are always hauled to the track/street.

The funny thing is that garage queen cars deteriorate in storage, especially anything with moving parts, the best thing to do with them is put them on a rolling road every so often. "it will loose power if it is driven" it will loose more if it isn't.

I live in Dubai, home to Dubai Mall, the one shown at 11:12. There's multiple massive multistory parkings all around the mall with a valet service as well. The valets have all been trained to park the expensive cars they get in the dozen or so parkings spaces located at the entrance of the mall instead of the multistories to attract tourists or whatever (and it's working). So you'll ALWAYS find an exotic car parked there. Some people even valet their exotics just to show it off at the entrance. I don't go there often but whenever I pass by the entrance, I'll see Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens, etc.

The soft tops on Wrangler's used to be one of the best ways to tell if they actually went out or not. It did not matter what the fuck you would do, that shitty plastic that they used would always get scuffed up and attracted dirt like crazy. My dad really tried to keep the soft top looking good for the first year of outings but eventually gave up once he realized that it wasn't worth the effort.

To the topic of garage queening rare cars. The crazy thing is that there are cars so rare that milage doesn't matter. Even if you had an accident, it won't affect the value. For example: the Mclaren F1 by Mr Bean crashed twice but still sold for the normal price for any other F1. That's because them coming up for sale makes the history of this car not important anymore

A 5th type would be the good ole trailer queen. Trailer queens are cars that ARE taken to shows but NEVER driven there but towed there on a trailer behind a pickup truck or other vehicle capable of towing large amounts of weight. It does make sense to tow a car to a race event cause they aren't really fully street legal anymore with the other being if it is a car that could appreciate in value like any supercar or hypercar and wanted to take it to a car gathering or show with the third being if it is in the process of being a completed car and it was ready to hit the paint shop and your shop doesn't have a paint booth onsite. The issue arises when someone just trailers it everywhere and NEVER DRIVES THE CAR fearing so much as a TINY LITTLE PAINT CHIP OR SCRATCH OR ENGINE LOSING POWER similar to garage queens. The car owns the owner at that point and it is pathetic. Cars are MEANT TO BE DRIVEN AND NOT TOWED EVERYWHERE.

My grandfather owns a manual 1965 Pontiac GTO with a softtop he restored in highschool if I'm not mistaken, it's a beautiful car, spends most of its time in a garage, but he does take it out time to time.

Tomi Vuori to be fair. You wouldn’t buy an expensive sword and use it to chop on a tree. Or a rare and valuable item and use it for its original intended use. Now I’m not trying to start an argument, but it’s not fair to say what is and what isn’t the correct way of using things people buy or get with their own money. If I had an expensive car like a Mclaren, I would have enough money to own another car that I could drive for it’s intended purpose. I wouldn’t want to drive my car to much and ruin its value due to high mileage. Also, there are millions upon millions of people on the road everyday. That means there’s trillions of possible accidents over the course of a year. Personally if all I were able to walk away from, I would rather be in my lesser vehicle. Not my rare and expensive one. While yes cars are designed to drive, crash, and break. Some are more fragile than others, more expensive to maintain, and overall just more of a liability on the road. Some cars are meant to be driven, like corvettes, hellcats, and other more affordable cars. Cars that aren’t meant to be driven in my opinion are the likes of, cobras, 50s Ferrari’s, and more very rare or expensive cars.

@@ozzygilliam05 who said my cars would be expensive?
@k.o.dentertainment7434 жыл бұрын
@@ozzygilliam05 I agree, i too dont want to star t a mess in comments, i dont formulated too much my opinion, but i was referring to places like scrap yards and police paths, here in my country theres a lot of cars that police arrest/lock because people coudnt pay debts,taxes or even was used in crimes, sometimes these cars go on auctions, but it not sufficient to maintain empty these places, so them are rusting and wasting material used in them , some poor people could give a use, but the government doesnt have laws for this. Yeah people are free to use the way they like, but reliable and not so rare cars are sad to see stopped by.
@ozzygilliam054 жыл бұрын
Tomi Vuori any car can be expensive. If you have no money every car is expensive. For example mustangs are considered cheap, yet they’re still 50. Maybe some people who can’t really afford that or make 50k in a year have one of those cars and treat it like a baby. I’m just saying every class of people have a different meaning for expensive. So you can’t just say they won’t be expensive.

My classic Mini is a garage queen with a lawn mower parked in front of it.... Sad face. I used to daily the Mini until I moved further away from work which meant having to bring the kid with me to swap in the parking lot. Now I only get to drive the Mini on rare occasions when the wife takes a day off work or comes home early or the kids are with grandparents and wife and I go out for a date night.

Theres a guy with a really nice Corvette C5 in his garage up my street. I don't know how you manage to keep a car in there for 20 years. He only has 276 miles on it too, I know that because I went to talk to him with my dad.
@isaks32433 жыл бұрын
I drive my classic once or twice per week. 140 000 km and made in 1973. Mine needs some work but I do drive it. I have driven roughly 2000km this summer. The thing with my car is that it is an iconic collectors classic but isn't extremely expensive. It is a 1973 Volvo P1800ES and so many people walk up to me just to see it up close when I park it because it is so rare that most people have never seen one on the road and many people don't even know that it exist
