2:45 the 'verby chords with the hard trem really starts sounding like moody but stabby organ chords. Really neat sound!

The competitors have put out lots of serious and interesting pedals, and I always start thinking that maybe I should go and buy one of them, but then I come back and listen to Flint and El Capistan just to find their tones superior. The only pedals that can compete sound wise are Super Spring Theory from Subdecay and Talisman from Catalinbread in my opinion.

They do sound excellent!

Can something like the RJM Mastermind PBC be used to trigger multiple presets on the Flint? I know the flint doesn’t have midi but it does store presets 🤔

Audio quality kinda shit. Good concept for a video though.

I love my Flint, but I do wish it were slightly different. The one thing it doesn't do is give you a modern day, top of the line verb emulation. A "modern" verb would be more useful than the 80s "nostalgic" (low powered) rack verb. They could use all that processing power to do a Bricasti/Lexicon studio reverb emulation. Now I have a reason to change the Flint sometimes for a Nunaber or Big Sky for really epic verbs, that aren't as cheesy as the 80s engine. If the Flint had that, it would be perfect. I can't help but think this was done to protect the Blue Sky and the Big Sky.

Really? I dont currently own either, but close to pulling the trigger on a flint. Going by all the demo's i've heard the bluesky is a much more cheesy verb sound than anything the flint offers, especially not the hall setting which just sounds beautiful and warm! Not cheesy at all.
@CNCTEMATIC4 жыл бұрын
@@RiperSnifle the flint doesn't have a hall setting.
@RiperSnifle4 жыл бұрын
@@CNCTEMATIC yes it does. On Strymon's website it says you get 3 verb settings, 60's spring tank reverb, 70s electronic plate reverb and 80s hall rack reverb.

@@RiperSnifle ugh, fine. it says "80s" on the tin. you have your mind made up, not sure why you're asking me questions. buy it

@@CNCTEMATIC sorry, I don't mean to be rude or pedantic. I'm mostly siding with the flint but not 100%. It's good to see other people's views I just was curious as to why you thought the 80s setting was cheesier sounding than the blue sky. I wonder whether only have 3 controls over the reverb on the flint is a deal breaker, compared to the flexibility available on the blue sky.
