Had great success with narrow reverse grip pull ups. There's a reason those male gymnasts have huge arms!

Because a person gets older does not mean they need more recovery time. Studies and science has also proven that as we age we SHOULD lift heavier with FEWER REPS! Not fewer workouts. Although there are a few muscles that we can do lighter with more reps. I’m 68, I’m not advanced. I’m not a beginner but I’m probably bottom to middle intermediate AND I workout with weights 6 days a week. I hit each muscle group twice a week (once for legs) the first half of the week (mon, tues, wed) I work in the 5 to 8 rep range and one or two reps from failure which means I’m lifting heavy weights. Example…I weigh 180 and I squat and deadlift 260 lbs for each. The second half of the week (Thursday, fri, sat) I’m in the 8 to 10 or even 12 rep range (NEVER more than 12 reps or it’s a warmup and doesn’t count as a set) I love it! And because I go one session heavy and one session lighter I don’t suffer from burnout, I don’t need recovery time and I feel GREAT! I don’t do anything on Sunday and can hardly wait for Monday so that I can start again! Science and studies has proven that this type of system works great! BTW…the young dude with the beard doing all the talking…he’s NUTS! You don’t want to follow someone…don’t follow him!

I'll try some of this. I think I've gotten a little bored with some of the exercises I have been doing.

Benching at 14 years old for football practice was 1st time I heard the horse shoe reference. I was a little dude. Was 97 pounds I know because of wrestling and the weight I was wrestling. I was pushing up 135 for 5 reps. And the whole team came over and was chearing me on. That alot of weight for a boy that was my size. I worked hard at bench to be able to put those 45s on each side. I wanted it bad. But one of the Older players was like look at those horseshoes. Lol I also was doing Dips with the belt with a 45lb plate. Team though the was impressive. But really being at such a light weight made dips easy.

I'm not into variety. I do 1 thing for biceps and 1 for triceps. Now I use to only do dips. For my upper body. But shoulders are whacked now. Dips work alot of upper body muscles. That's what's good about working out. So many things can get it done. I wish I could do china's and pull-ups. That's all I would do.

Drop sets is all ill do on bi and tri. Start at 100 on a cable machine and go down 10 pounds and when I get to 50 I ho down 5 pounds. No breaks. Your arms will fall off and your pump will be crazy

What if the left arm is visibly smaller than the right arm. LEFT arm is just under 14 inches flexed, and right arm is just over 15 inches? Do I ignore the right until left arm catches up? Thinking if I work both arms, the left will never catch up. Ideas anyone?

I have the same issue. I’ve been doing an extra set for my left arm. Hopefully that does the trick.

I had that issue growing up. I played drumset righthanded and because of that the right hand is the timekeeper and gets used more, usually at a 4/1 ratio. I had to really work my left arm harder to catch it up to my right in my early 20's. If i was curling dummies, i'd do a 40lb/10 reps on left, 35/8 reps on right, and so on...

Its not hard if you have even some little understanding how to train. Its about testolevels and some other growth factors. Key to bigger arms in older age is TRT or go for a full blown cycle but thats just stupid. So TRT is solution for bigger arms, not the way you train. Just a fact of life. This guys knowledge of weightraining is, well even some beginners know facts more precisely than in this video. But yea, anyone can believe what the want and try to make their bussiness. he got the triceps thing right thou.

This advice is completely wrong…More volume for older guys?? Nonsense!! More intensity not volume is the key…once per week or twice as a max is fine! 😢
@daveblichmann77336 ай бұрын
Absolutely wrong! Older men especially need less frequency and more recovery. Less volume and more intensity is what makes natural trainers grow. His advice works for enhanced trainers.
