Yeah buddy. Belly hook the bait dives but more importantly no matter what direction the baits head is facing when it lands in the water, it will almost always go away from the boat and down. I thought this was crazy when I first saw it but the belly hook method is the best chance for success. Your man has great intel 👍🏻🤙🏻🔥

Thank you so much...yes the belly hook has been my go to the past couple seasons but I've also been incorporating the shoulder hook recently. Still figuring things out on my end, trying to dial in on what works best for me. I think for me the most important thing is picking the right bait and keeping that thing healthy from the moment I have it in my hand....which is something I need to improve. Tight lines!

Shoulder hook is my go to when the bite is tough. With a small #4 circle hook the fish cant see a thing in the bait when looking from below. Works for me, but i do use all the other hooking methods used in this video too. Knowledge is key. Great video. Thanks

Yes, I've been going back and forth between shoulder and butt hooking. Fly lining is so simple but there are so many little details that can differentiate whether you get bit or not. Still learning and putting in that time. Thank you for the comment, tight lines!

Some people on the last trip i went on was doing what they called a heart hook with a circle hook. It was ok the chest area. Not sure how they didnt kill the bait but they were all getting bit
