Finally, something to potentially make old world mat farms mean something. I don't mind farming gold, but if I am pretty much stuck to a particular zone for the highest profit by thousands of GPH...it gets boring fast. Having dozens of zones and potential markets makes it much more doable without wanting blow your brains out. The vendor flips...if that works...I mean...that's a gateway to millions if you have the time to farm up or have the gold to stock pile stuff right now. Some of those mats are literally worth a few silver per on Area-52 for example.

This new crafting system is going to finally make my hording ways pay-off, I have several alt guild banks full off old crafting mats that I never got around to cleaning out specially the garrison related WOD mats, but also a bunch of others. My crafting characters will be busy when pre-patch comes out. I am also wondering if it will be possible to craft old level 100 items for gathering alts with loads of gemslots and then using the new shadowlands gems to get a speed boost. Also as far as I am aware the relics of the past are not bop, so if you like many of us have all the professions, then there might be a cheapest profession to use for making them.

You cannot use relics of the past on gear that has set effects of sockets. blizzard said that in a post.

I believe twinking is dead in SL. No more stopping xp gains. I don't think ppl will spend bucket loads on lvl 100 items when they will out level them in a day or two?

Did u check if the exp stopping NPCs are up on the PTR? I hear they are, so twinking will still be possible 😉

@WTBgold made a video claiming this based on the exp stopping NPCs not being available on Beta. People have been reporting that they are available on the PTR though.

this still sounds like it is going to fall flat. leveling goes by so quickly because it is such a small part of the game as a whole. All this effort for minimal change. It needs to go to current content or something. All they have done is give you the option to purchase op equipment and upgrade that as you level. This is nothing but a replacement to heirloom gear.

idk, the reason that people will buy that materials or will buy crafting gear (with relics) is not so...considerable! People just doing dungeons till they get 120 now. Why would they buy that gear just for lvl-up... It must be cheap to sell and if it is so - it's not so profitable. I don't talk that it is not for goldmaking at all. But the demand for this is questinable

It is because the ilvl 100 stuff vendors for around 50g if you can get old world mats to make a relic for under 50g you are making straight profit
