This was an excellent video, thanks! I use one of the transistor saturators from Ujam Finisher Retro which is a multi effect thingy on overheads cause it eats the harsh highs of the cymbals while it does not reduce their presence. Perfect if you have some modern drum library and you want to get an old-school hip hop/funk sound.

I used to compress the shit outta my vocals 😂😂😂 i thought it gave some character to my voice until I realized it did sound pretty muddy and hard to understand at times;( the attack was wayy too short and the release was long as tiddies
