Hands down, this is the most pure and true content i can find on youtube. I watch a lot of different things, across many different categories. But nothing does it for me like your videos. Nothing but raw and up close experiences that i wish i could experience myself. Not only do you all have some bad ass setups and vehicles, but you also have an amazing group of friends to do it with. I only get on youtube to watch your videos anymore and thats it. Please Ronny, never change, stay genuine and keep making this awesome content. Love yall and stay safe out in the bush!

There are many, extremely difficult tracks around Coffs Harbour & lots of others as well. Lots of history too, many gold mines, former Village sites. Today I was taken to some railway tunnels near Glenreagh which were very interesting. There are lots of railway rolling stock pieces at Dorrigo too. Pebbly Beach, where you camped after crossing the tidal creek, is one of the nicest camping areas around Coffs too.

Saying about the condensation in the Oztent RS1 - most swags if left closed up with no ventilation will often produce condensation like that inside because it's warmer inside than out...bit like a car windscreen fogging up on the inside on a really cold day. Will be interesting to see how those RS1's go after a few months of testing like any new product I guess. Great video Ronny, keep it up champ !

It's a pity Toyota persisted with leaf springs on the 7x series.. The extra travel of coils would have made that hill a lot easier.. I've got a gq wagon with 4" lift and 33" tyres, I'm sure it or a similarly equipped 80/100/200 series Cruiser would have felt a lot more secure... Great video though mate, getting better all the time!

Good morning Ronny Dahl and Teamus Maximus, Had to pause playing this and finish munching my 6:31 a.m. porridge, because my inflamed blocked ears were totally cutting out the audibles, like a very bad Skype connection. And now that that's done, back to my back yard to soak in your awesomely shared offerings. Yep I live in Coffs Harbour; right next to Sawtell.

Ronny Dahl Pebbly Beach, really glad you had the opportunity to call in there for a quick rest-up?. Unfortunately 4x4ing is no longer something I can do, but what an incredible eye opener to be able to journey what effectively is the 'back yard' with you guys. Several times I've called in on the Dorrigo Train storage valley/yard and the caretaker there's happily shown my visiting friends & family the collection there. Some truly amazing stuff and heaps of it. Really glad we have a strong community ethic amongst the locals to help out too, as you discovered when needed. Many thanks for this particular Barrington Tops to Coffs Harbour series, and in fact for all of your online videos. So good. Take care, and I trust all the preparations for the Simpsons series go well. It's such a priviledge to be a part of your journeys. Well worth supporting through Patreon if people can afford to. :)

Hi Ronny you made me think of my old days in the Victorian High Country with my old H45 troope lot of fun but lots of work at night, one of the many tricks I learned was to have a big flood light out back and I set my reversing camera up so I could turn them on any time good for towing and great if you get stuck and have to go back a bit. I would love to take you up to some of my most loved tracks in in Victoria High Country Haunted Stream, Bull Town Track Billy Goat Bluff track list go on and on, let me know and I be glad to help.

It's actually called Mount Coramba and that track is known as Morbid Trail. There are other hill climb tracks that are more difficult on the otherside of Mount Coramba; Army, Commando and Rocky Trails. Coffs has some of the best hill climbs around from easy to insanely wild (Koala Trail you feral beast), you should definitely return and explore more.

Between travelling and editing/uploading there can't be that many hours left in a week. As an example Ronny, how much footage did you have to wade through in order to make this 4 part series? You have you assistant but I'm guessing there's still plenty of work to go around.

Mate I'm at it every night. The only person doing the adventure series is me. Currently Amalia is learning how to help with the modified series but no one can replace me with the adventure series as its all in my head and its how I'm telling the story, the music, the shots and it goes on... Yeah a lot of time is spent but the reward from the audience watching is worth it. I can't complain about my current job at all, I love it but it requires 100% attention throughout the entire year, I never stop and I'm a workaholic which helps. Thanks for watching
@ScottMeister
@ScottMeister 6 жыл бұрын
I've never seen a Yoke snap right in half like that! I've seen them strip the teeth but never snap. It's either some serious torque from the diesel engine or just a faulty driveshaft & yoke. Judging by Ronny''s comments about Toyota parts, I'd guess the latter! Always buy OEM...no matter how much you save on aftermarket.
@SomervilleMetalWorks
@SomervilleMetalWorks 6 жыл бұрын
Scott Meister my question is why does it have an aftermarket in 1st place? obviously the oem must have failed if its been replaced.. So then is it better than aftermarket? . I would assume weight has more to do with than torque
@Hillbillyhasashotgun
@Hillbillyhasashotgun 6 жыл бұрын
These guys have done suspension lifts in their rigs, you'll find the OEM tailshaft probably wasn't long enough with the lift Wayne was running (Which is probably why old mate at the tailshaft shop had to make a longer one up). Looks like it was part of the slip-joint in the shaft that actually broke and as to what caused the failure it could be any number of things, quality of manufacturing, age and fatigue are all factors but just saying it was garbage might not be the entire reason for the failure... As for OEM always being better, that's not really the case at all. For example on my GQ Patrol the Drag Link, Steering Arm, Panhard Rods, Trailing Arms etc are all 30mm in diameter, but they're all 3.7mm wall thickness tubing, and they're pretty easy to bend even just slightly, which completely screws your wheel alignment in a live axel vehicle. Roadsafe offer replacements in 30mm diameter with 6.5mm wall thickness and they're actually slightly cheaper than genuine OEM Nissan ones from my local dealer and they're a stronger component to boot. Most of the parts car manufacturers put in their vehicles aren't made by them anyway. The engineers designing a vehicle will look through supplier catalogues and pick components like bearings, universal joints, brake rotors, injectors, fuel pumps and a myriad of other things that fit the specifications they want for the vehicle and order them in bulk (in the order of millions), because it saves the car manufacturer having to build more factories and production lines to make components they can already buy off the shelf.
@SomervilleMetalWorks
@SomervilleMetalWorks 6 жыл бұрын
Hillbillyhasashotgun They dont have that big of lift nobody i go out with have a longer tailshaft most of us on 2-3 inch all have the factory shaft. Like you said thought youd just lengthen the factory shaft. From the way its snapped on solid spline shaft suggests to me thats its a machining issue. Anyone who does machining know that sharp transitions in diameter cause stress rises in material. IE weak points where it more likely to snap.
