All of these are nightmares, but #4 is horrifying. Would YOU ever go extreme kayaking?
@elsemargrethetnder8835 ай бұрын
No. I don’t feel the urge for extreme kayaking. Too much I want to see and experience in life and my life is extreme enough even in slow motion.

How about completely safe kayacking where you do pit stops where you kayack is secured and a team of SAS waterboard you a few times before you gently kayack down the stream. Amu gently here and there is much better than ever or always doing a Geoffrey.

I’ve been stuck in an under water eddy in the Nolichucky River in Tennessee. The thing is once out of the kayak your stuck being bopped up and down between the bottom and top. Someone luckily came by and grabbed my arm and pulled me out.

The last guy, Hendri. What sort of kayak trip has no exit strategy? "Don't get in the water because hippos are there. Don't get on the banks, crocodiles are there." "Ok, so what if something goes wrong, where are we suppose to go?" [crickets] Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

The kern river runs behind my moms cabin. Like 10 feet above it. It’s a mellow creek in the area but I’m sure it gets crazy.

Shout out to Bren Orton from Senders who died kayaking a waterfall in Switzerland this year. A fantastic kayaker and great bloke who will be sorely missed

I am a kayaker. The images shown in this video are completely random and most don't (if not all) have anything to do with the story.
@minilea255 ай бұрын
What are you talking about? Most of the pictures were of the actual people and places.
@kayasper60815 ай бұрын
@@minilea25 We see sea kayakers in all sort of different places mixed up with different river paddlers in even more different places. Also, very different levels of skill between them. They have nothing to do which each other nor with the story. It is all totally random.

@@kayasper6081 well luckily for me I don't know shit about kayaking and I really enjoyed the video regardless

I'm sure pictures of these people every step of the way are not available. What should he do instead? Show a black screen?
@kayasper60815 ай бұрын
@@adhc8560 In my opinion: yes. One shouldn't tell a story in images when she/he doesn't have the images. Make it a podcast or other form, but this is misleading.

If it wasn't dangerous, it wouldn't be any fun ~ They accept the risk, I enjoy their fateful stories, it's win win I like to race motorcycles, even though they've almost killed me a couple of times. So I hope no one feels sad for me when I'm gone: "It's better to burn out, than to fade away" \m/

Is this ai generated, the photos barely correlate to the audio, random shots of kayakers with some trip photos sprinkled in. Chatgpt, make me a kayaking slideshow. Sea kayaks, lake paddling, some whitewater and random garbage. Unwatchable.

Who needs to fail a rescue for 90 mins before calling for some actual help that guy probably would have lived if they had called 911 after, hell I'll give them 10 minutes to try a plan or two yourselves, but after that doesn't work you need to be calling professionals especially if you are in a remote location it's better to call early and get them en route then try all the plans you want as long as you don't make it worse
@tiffanysaffell40495 ай бұрын
By the time they make their way out, contact authorities, and authorities make their way to the incident, then it’s too late. It’s often the case that whitewater kayakers understand water better and are better equipped for swiftwater navigable waters than firefighters. These guys WERE the professionals. You could hear in the story how he was trained in swiftwater rescue and taught whitewater kayaking. Whitewater kayakers are taught to take care of their paddling friends as when you are on the water, you don’t have enough time to go get help. You have to help immediately. Once you hit a certain point in training, you are going to train in and practice swiftwater rescue classes and wear a special type of vest called a rescue vest. A rescue vest has things like a harness and quick release attachments. Kayakers carry gear in their boats to handle rescue situations (like pins). Kayakers also share accident information in a national organization in order to develop best practices. I haven’t heard the last story yet, but I haven’t heard anything that seems contrary to good practices other than not kayaking at all.
