You fitted the turbo to my 105 about 20 ish yrs ago. Made a huge difference to how it drove. Had the motor rebuilt at 340k ish due cracked head (my fault as I changed the heater core and didn’t get all the air out). Had the turbo upgrade kit with pistons with thicker crowns, bigger gudgeon pins and stronger con rods. Had the crowns and skirts ceramic coated. Running about 12lb boost and currently at about 390k. Drives like a dream and can’t fault the work and professional attitude you took when fitting my system. Hats off.

Only thing I don't like about working on them is that you've to really stretch your body to get to everything on the motor. I replaced an oil pump on a 1HZ, which is built into the front timing cover part necessitating cylinder head removal etc😢 Be careful also not to drop a pushrod into the wrong hole when replacing the head, it'll fall right down into the sump. More work😕

I would like to increase the power of my 2005 100 series with the 1hdfte engine. It doesn't like hills towing a 2.4 tonne off road camper. It gets down to 70 kph. Can I chip it or do a remap?

My 1HZ has been in our family since 1992. Dad bought it new. Oil change every 5000k's. It has 545000k's on it. I don't need a turbo but would like to discuss the benefits of a rebuild. Is it necessary?
