#4: Yari Ashigaru (Yari Wall) vs Yari Samurai | 1 V 1 | Total War Shogun 2 Unit Comparisons

we have Yari Ashigaru in Yari Wall versus Yari Samurai.

Why did you have the Yari Ashigaru keep moving forward even though they would get like no charge bonus at that speed when instead like every other player you could have them stop before the Samurai charge in so they could have time to brace

They are braced even while moving, they are presenting their spears in the form of a phalanx, and if I don't move them forward, by the time enemy Samurai reach the Ashigaru the Samurai will have a certain degree of fatigue. The Yari Samurai have rapid advance which restores their stamina temporarily but every other unit will be winded or tired because the AI will make them run across the whole length of the battlefield which will affect their combat capabilities, and indirectly affect the final results of the comparison.
