Thanks Mr T. I personally would not buy a 4 because of the many cases I have read about on the " Land Rover Discovery % Group Australia" Facebook Group of engine issues . It would be worth doing some research online before buying a 4. The 6 is so economical anyway. You will not be disappointed with the way the D5 drives. It is comfortable and relaxing on a long trip.

I recently had a very unpleasant episode with my Disco 5. The steering rack failed whilst cornering causing me to have an RTA. I claimed on my insurance for body and mechanical repair. 14 weeks in to repair and I am still awaiting return. Very long parts wait from LR (steering rack, suspension arms and subframe). Can anyone advise if I have a legitimate claim against LR as I have excess to pay on my insurance claim and the car is now devalued as it has been in an accident. I understand that this fault has been recognised with other LR models that have been recalled but not the Discovery 5.

Great video, you can upgrade the newer grill , and Fin trims on bottom on the side if the front bumper to bring it up to 2021/2 d5s regards mark

Have you noticed any knocking from the front wheels when going over bumps, as something is knocking or hitting something? There seems to be a few similar reports of this on the internet. I have a 2017 Discovery but just dont know what is the real cause of this knock when going over speed bumps or running over holes in the road. Definitely coming from the front wheel passenger side though.

I'm not familiar with the D5 suspension, but when I have had that on other LR products, it has been anti-roll bar droplinks.

Nice, $10,000 is good, but a Garmin or Hema navigation system and it will work better anyway. Makes that a much more affordable car. I had D3 and loved the capacity of space, defender has too small an opening, and this lost the split tailgate and lost square storage capacity. Had mine full to the brim in the back with a great drawer system etc. Hoping the new models in the defender family become the d5 this should have been… I ultimately would love a cab chassis version even if they had to build a solid tray setup or something as part of their design. Then the ultimate camper can be made.

I believe a 130 Defender is on it's way. Hopefully later they will make a base dual cab with coils etc before the Grenadier beats them to it.

btw i love my disco sport 2017. No serious probs. A pleasure to drive. Perhaps I've been lucky getting a Wednesday built car :) I have received incredible dealership service and support whenever I go there albeit for minor issues.

On the D5 the SD card is in the console.Not sure on the Sport.
