We too have issues with our 2017 disco 5 (new engine, heater matrix blah blah blah) and Marshall have been generally good with us. We bought the car from a different Land Rover ‘chain’ who weren’t interested with our issues but Marshall took them on with LR. Also reluctant to get another disco!

The C pillar should be made straight as it gives more shoulder room to get in n out of 3rd row. Also the split tail gate

I have just purchased my 3rd discovery, a slight hiatus between the last one and this, because of the Covid disruption to supply chain. 2012 Discovery 4 HSE - Perfect car (Black on black on black) 2017 Discovery 5 HSE Luxury - all the bells and whisles (silicon silver) 2023 Discovery 5 Metropolitan - Back in the right car for me, (D300)

Really hope the Disco 6 is a step in the right direction, refine/ redesign the back, sort the electrics, make it look modern but a hint to the past discoveries just like the Range Rover has done, really hope they do not take any design from the Velar as I really do not like that car design at all. I still have my 14 disco 4 hse and love it, over 2 years now ownership and still going strong with 93lk miles!

I have bought discovery D300 in 2022.09 new. Today 2023 november 3 i have done total 71600 km oil changes every 7500 km no problems so far

I have a 2017 SE V6. 100,000 kms. It is one of the most realiable cars I have had. Previously a multiple Subaru owner. About to order another. Best car for an active person I surf, ski and do adventure holiday like bush walking and exploring place like Fraser Island on sand.

I really wanted a D5. Sadly, I don't have the space (or had the budget at the time) for one, and won't for the foreseeable future. I have a Disco Sport instead and love that. Would still jump to a D5 if circumstances changed though. I am even a fan of the rear tailgate design 🤣

Took over three months to get my 2018 HSE back after replacing the wiring loom. this was caused by water ingress through windscreen and sun roof. One problem after another after another. 😒😒😒.... Got rid and bought BMW.

Williams Manchester were very good with me when my Discovery Sport completely shut down. However when I paid another £324 for them to check over my vehicle so I could buy a Land Rover extended warranty, diagnostics found another code popping up but they couldn’t pinpoint the exact location of the fault. This was just weeks after they had my car in for full diagnostic check and changing parts to clear the initial fault. The lesson is NEVER LET A LAND ROVER VEHICLE FALL OUT OF WARRANTY.

Superb Video. Have you not used the winged headrests? I’m stepping away from a RRS to a Metropolitan D300, no regrets as the new D5 is such an excellent vehicle. You know you need to do it!!!

Why would you go from a RRS to a Disco?

@@Discovery_Dad Funny enough I have and saw it as a downgrade to a RRS. Ugly rear end,doesn’t drive nearly as well no dynamic response pro or D350/P400 engines with worse residuals actually worked out more expensive.

I have a 2017 HSE luxury and like you went for the 2litre towing has always been ok but I do think the 3l is a better proposition. Mines in the garage for 2 months awaiting parts. Shame they did away with HSE luxury

HSE Luxury is effectively replaced with the Metropolitan Edition. Only thing missing is rear seat entertainment, however, you now get click & go base with a USB charger in the seat back so you can put a tablet there instead which is probably more flexible. Fridge now standard too, and the electronic architecture is the new version as used in Defender etc, so overall a big upgrade on previous cars including wireless Apple CarPlay.

Have the Discovery 2018 diesel. Leather Al over the place , incredible ride due to the additional weight of the engine. Land Rover Ft Myers gave me a loaner new Discovery and NOT impressed. Cheaply made …. No leather doors, center console etc… Would never consider trading

I've always liked the through behind LR/RR SUV's....but they still need to iron out whatever "bugs" that are preventing their SUV's from being "Reliable". Even in 2024. still lots of reports of =their SUV's being in the shop for months. That it's a= a gabmble...a roll of the dice....i've heard you can "get lucky" and get a reliable Discovery or Defender then the next 5 guys wil get "bad copies"....having to leave theirs in the shop for a month or so...Like what Mercedes went through maybe 10 years ago....I believe they've "cleaned up their act"....MB's used to be "tanks back in the 80's 90's...

I just can’t bring myself to like it it is the plastic inside and it’s what I think is the start of what I class as Land Rover making boring ugly motors. Much like BMW everything looks the same these days. Look at the difference between D2 and D3 for me the Defender should have been the new D5 and that off shot rear number plate it’s just awful. I’ve gone Land Cruiser 150 icon now and couldn’t be more happy as I haven’t had to spend a penny on it unlikely to go back to land rovers now. Come on LR make some good looking motors again

Please tell me what Marshall’s you go to be use Bedford Marshall’s are absolutely terrible. Our P400e Range Rover EV battery has failed and we have limited brakes (as there electric) no air con and various other things that fail due to a knackered EV battery. But Marshall’s tell me it’s fine for us to carry on driving for the next 5 weeks until they can change the EV battery. The last courtesy car we got offered was a Honda Jazz so we’ll done getting a Land Rover from a Land Rover dealership 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Same in any garage , Mercedes dealer near me has 12 Sprinters all waiting for same parts, Hyundai garages tell stories of blown engines .. All any garage sees are problems , no one takes in a good car . What about millions of good runners out there, now , how about every L R owner now texts in how good theirs are ... This page would be swamped
