To be fair, it was not his call to leave the gun there. The police would 100% have shot him if he had reached for it to remove it from the vehicle (as they should, because he's already assailed someone with a deadly weapon once that day), which means he HAD to leave it there unless he lied about having it which is another crime altogether that I didn't hear them state was within his charges.

An recent example that comes to mind is a shooting accident that happened bc she told her dad to shoot the “noise makers” The dad was a cop and it was a whole thing. Edit: she didn’t tell her dad to shoot the victims, she said her dad was a policeman and didn’t react strongly (or lacked empathy) at seeing the victims (a mother and son) get shot by her dad.

I lived in Foresthill California, where a teenager accidentally killed his friend showing off an unsecured firearm. This parent is stupid so the court system needs to educate him. Send him to school (jail) for 6 months and then test him. If he's still stupid, give him another 6 months.

I agree with everyone saying the child is a product of his upbringing. The “father” had no right to brandish a pistol or any weapon in that case. Though why wasn’t the firearm apprehended along with the suspect? Leaving a weapon around children Especially in close proximity (in a vehicle) to where a four-year-old can grab it, while they have four or five cops standing there.

When I was a kid, 11, we got pulled over for a minor infraction and my little sister, 3 or 4, stuffed her sandwich in her mouth and started crying. Muffled, because her face was stuffed with McDonald’s. She thought it was illegal to eat in the car and that’s why we got pulled over. @@gaysunshineshit4662 I think that the kid is old enough to understand that guns kill people. He knew that shooting that gun would mean that his dad could get away and "do what he wants". He tried to stop the police from arresting his dad, what do you think he thought would happen if he shot the cops? That they would just disappear into thin air? That they would just get in their cars and drive away? No. That kid knew that shooting people would stop them from arresting his dad, because they would be laying on the ground, dying, instead of arresting the dad.

He didn't get enough time in jail. That was extremely dangerous, careless, and reckless. The cops could have opened fire on the car and killed the kids, a cop could have been shot! That's insane!!!

What if the 4 year old had killed one of the cops? Would the 4 year old go to jail or be handcuffed and taken to court to be charged as an adult?

Kid could have very well shot himself or one of his siblings. This could have ended in disaster any which way.

Exactly! All hope for humanity is just about done; we're actually scraping the bottom of the barrel, nowadays. Unfortunately at this point I believe it's going to get much, much worse if our elected officials don't get a grip on this situation that's plaguing our societies. Most of the damage is already irreparable, and it's spreading fast!✌🏽

Well if yu think that then you should agree those police officers need more training as well. This guy made a bad decision... obviously, still no officers checked him for the firearm or the car. Idkif he was illegally carrying & im not going to make any assumptions but what I d know if the police come running up to your car with guns drawn your 1st instict probably wouldnt be let me reach over here or down here and put this gun out the reach of my children in the car, it find the best way not to get shot.
