This is a fairly well-researched video. On a side-note: I've been getting into your videos lately, and when I scroll through the comments I invariably find a few threads ragging on you for pronunciation issues or monotone delivery. I'll assume in fairness that many of the esoteric words you stumble over were created specifically for 40k and you may have never heard them spoken aloud before. I'm not aware of there being a 40k dictionary to refer to for guidance. Many of us simply refer back to the conventions we've learned for what sound-forms certain combinations of letters should produce in the English language. Additionally: I like the tenor of your voice. It sets off my ASMR. Keep up the good work

Did you know that a SW imperial star destroyer is the size of a frigate but it's firepower is equivalent to a 40k battleship, it's fleets outnumber 40k segmenting fleets(bfg rule book) and is faster than any ship 40k offers in ftl travel, plus its crew is better trained better taken care of and more motivated vs a slave crew chained to there working party living in rat infested quarters and general no expectant life other than to work to the bone day in and day out....

First off, sorry, my fault, it depends ON THE MODEL of destroyer. Second, there aren't only Segmentum Fleets. The Segmentum fleets are asigned to each Segmentum, like said in the video, but critical battlezones can have independent fleets, like it's been, also, said in the video, accounting so for maybe even thousands of ships. Then, crews. Crew in the Warhammer 40k universe are composed from many types of people. While much of the crew is composed, certainly, by servitors and other lowly servants, the crewman who actually matter (Captains ,Master gunners that control the weapons' fire and targetting systems, Tech adepts who work on maintenance and reapair tasks, comissars who control the loyalty of the crew, navigators etc...) are more experienced than their star wars counterparts because of one simple reason: War. Raids, attacks, pirates, xenos are something common in many Imperial Sectors, so most crews of military ships in the Imperium undergo not simple trainment or crushing some rebels at a time, but having to fight in real combat as they just get into service (There is only war, remember?). And then, weaponry. Here is where you show that you don't have any idea what you're talking about. If you make simple claculations just by looking at the cannons and the armor of both the ships from the empire and the Imperium you will see that the scale is completely different. If you look at the turbolasers and ion cannons of any star wars ship and compare them to a regular macrocannon (regular cannons) you will see that difference. Turbolaser turrets (the regular star wars "big ship weapon") are about 10-30 metres tall, with the cannons caliber being about 10 to 50 cm in the case of the turbolasers and 40 to maybe even 180 in the case of the ion cannons in the biggest ships. Then look at the caliber of macrocannons in any imperial ships: the caliber is between 30 to 75...metres. It's just a difference about pure strength, a ship from the republic (1100 metres) may be destroyed by ONE SHOT if it's from a weapon of tha power. Then, in what's about speed, in combat speed I would say that Warhammer 40k ships are slightly faster, while in traveling speed the Star wars' ships are faster by far than their Warhammer 40k counterparts (mainly because they rape the laws of physics). And last, about motivation. Yes, because knowing that you will be executed if you fail at capturing those rebels is a great motivation -_-

I'd have to go with an imperium fleet, based on the sheer size of the ships. While star wars is capable of producing some enormous ships, the clone war republic ships weren't known for doing that and the fleet size was typically a handful at most, while Imperium fleets were capable of being a dozen big, the ships being insanely huge, a capable of ramming in a pinch. A Jedi admiral would add to some advantage to the republic, but the sheer power of what the Imperium would bring would be too overwhelming.

The Jedi do not matter, because the republic will not get to fire a single shot on the Imperial Navy. The range difference is far too large (And there are pskers more powerful than jedi and pskers less powerful)

Not only that, the Imperial Navy knows enough not to design exhaust vents without baffles and other measures that let your opponent send a fighter to drop a single small explosive charge into your main power plant. Gee, just think, one designer from 40k and the Death Star blasts Yavin and breaks the entire rebellion for another generation or three. Luke would end up on the Dark Side, either replacing or supporting Vader.

Look up the BFG short story called "Screaming". It is the point of view of one of the ship's gunners, haring a scream in the middle of the night. The scream is from another bunkroom, where someone just went insane from the sheer oppression in the ship. To put himself back to sleep, he lists of the number of crew for each of the parts of the ship, relaxing his mind as he counts the total crew

Just 1 photon torpedos (more powerfull than nuke) and these sh*tty-ship will break a part. In star trek, only low tech weakings will use laser or plasma or nukes. WH 40k is stup*d, the story is stup*d, the technology is weak, and their society is stup*d too. Warhammer fleets would defeat most Star Wars fleets. Unless the Star Wars has one of the super weapons. Also, if there were Jedi such as in the clone wars then they could board. A fight between Jedi vs Space Marine would be interesting. My guess is that a good Jedi Master would be able to defeat a few Space Marines and might be able to destroy the fleet by boarding actions. But ship to ship it's going to go to the Warhammer fleet.

Also don't forget about the Necron celestial orrery and of course the terrifying World engine (which was basically the necron version of a Deathstar, only more advanced and mobile). The Imperium only managed to destroy it by sending a huge response force which included a ton of marines from FIFTEEN SM chapters and the whole sector fleet. Only 6 marines survived the assault.

Star Wars has a speed advantage, as can be seen when Maul went from Coruscant to Tatooine in a couple of days. WH40k ships can take weeks, months, or even over a year to cross the galaxy. Planetary sterilization can be done by WH40k ships 2-3 miles long with dedicated ordnance (Virus Bombs). Star Wars can do the same, but with existing weaponry on the ships, it is called "Base Delta Zero", and the ship needd to do so is only 1 mile in length. Strategic arrival: WH40k ships can only exit the Warp at the edge of the system, vs Star Wars able to exit FTL in planetary orbit. A Star Wars fleet engaging a WH40k fleet would be foolish to meet in space. They could arrive in deep space, lure the WH40k fleet out, then do an in-system hyperjump to the target planet's orbit and do a basic bombardment. Any ships by themselves would suddenly have several SW ships jumping nearby to bracket and kill it. I am lumping Death Stars, Blackstone Fortresses, and Necron tech into the 'not fleet elements' category. Death Star is a galactic strategic asset, and would not be deployed for a fleet battle. Blackstone Fortresses and Necron tech are not Imperium of Mankind technology, and would not count either.

40k beats the Star Wars navy. From what i know the largest of Star Wars Legends ships is the Eclipse Class Super Star Destoyer, but in 40k every Space Marine chapter has a ship roughly the same size. Meaning the Imperium of Man navy easily outclasses the Galactic Empire navy. When it comes to ground battles though they are pretty evenly matched, until Titans come into the picture.

In the EpIII book the coruscant defense fleet numbered over 2000 capital ships not including snub fighters and bombersin the BFG rule book a segmentum fleet is 75 strong including fighters and bombers.

It should also be noted that Imperial Admirals have many decades if not centuries of combat experience (thousands of years in cases of eldar and chaos admirals) and I have yet to see anyone crazy enough to ram an enemy ship when simple shield collisions can result in massive ship destroying blast (void shields are fucking dangerous, Titans even suffer this problem.) the void shield alone can withstand all but the most devastating of attacks especially land based one that can simply ignore orbital fire from an entire fleet of vessels including multiple battle barges (the epitome of naval firepower out shining emperor class battleships)

I don't know if anyone would see this but I would just want to throw out there in the Warhammer Imperial Navy vs Star Wars fleet, that a star wars fleet has better logistics, and does not have to worry about demons, so they have overall greater flexibility, if less punch and size. Also their logistics allow them to replace ships a lot faster than the Imperial Navy. This is not a war winning fact but it is one people do overlook.

Always assumed it was for a shock affect. And it actually works too (well , at humans it does.) some (human) colonies that are rebelling against the Empire simply surrender once the Imperial navy arrives. That being said , its important to note that the Imperium has been using space travel for many many milenia , so even tough their ship designs looks odd it is important to understand that there are batteries , misilles/torpedo's and fighter launch bays place all over the ship. So they DO pack quite a punch and are perfectly capable of fighting ships of any other race. Well except for maybe extreme cases like Necrons , these guys don't mess around when it comes to technologicly advanced and optimized ships.

I think the Imperial Fleet has brute strength and genetically enhanced boarding parties on their side which is a terrifying force to reckon with in general. However the Republic Fleet has the Jedi Generals who have abilities like battle meditation and the obvious offensive abilities like force pulse and what not. I'd say the Imperium is likely to win a drawn-out battle but i think the Republic would win in a surprise attack like the Eldar would pull.

Weird question.. and I'm open to answers from ANYONE; The milky way is approximately 100,000 light years across in a disc shape. How 'tall' is the disc? How 'thick' are the various segmenta? Their 2-D scale is well known.. but what about the third dimension? Like on a planetary ring system, you'll have 'high orbits' of wild eccentricity that will eventually barrel through the top.. and later the bottom of any 'normal' galactic clusters. They might be matching the orbital path of their peers on a 2D map.. but in 3 dimensions it would become clear that entire solar systems are many light years above or below their counterparts who share a 'grid intercept'

Also if the Death Star Equivalent in the Warhammer 40k universe (the Necron planet vessel, I forget the name) can be destroyed by the boarding and destruction of an entire space marine chapter, it's pretty safe to say any action the republic navy can be countered by Space Marines boarding the vessels of the fleet and pummel the crew to death with bolter fire. Even if that failed, turning off the Geller field of your ship and sending it through the warp, and upon discovery after exiting the warp, Daemons tend to be a healthy fuck you

How many sectors are there exactly? Does anyone know? Just asking because there would be ~1 million (987,500) sectors in the Milky Way if the Imperium ruled the entirety of it. Assuming you count with 8 million cubic lightyears, of course. Now, with 8 billion, the number of sectors would drastically decrease (987.5) to a more believable level.

In the battle between the republic and the impirium, the republic would win, due to its use of fighters and ins SHIELD technology, the shields render mass driver weaponry almost useless, also the fighters allow the republic to immobilize the attackers. their final advantage is thier speed and the safety of hyperspace travel compared to warping, allowing them to reinforce faster. sorry man, Imperium have shield, and when the Republic have only one mandator 2, every sector in WK40K have 70-90 ship of the same size(there a lot of sector I think 3000 or 4000), and every of this ship have the capacity of destroy a planet, and the smallest frigate have the size of a Venator Star Destroyer, in change yuo are right with Hyperspace, is much more fast then the warp. Homewar, here we are talking only of the Imperium Flett, because they are also Chaos Flett (containing ship craftend in the Eye of Terror, so impossible to the normal physics) eldar (have Astro World, more bigger then the Executor) the Tyranid (infinite ships) Necrons (little ships but very powerful) and other,, Also Star Wars have the Star Forge, I think this probably is the most powerful weapon of Star Wars, in Land theres more problem, becuase Clone Troppers are best then Imperial Guarda, but wait Space Marines and Imperial Titanics and the battle is a clearly win.

Republic fleets anywhere from 100-300 ships plus escorts according to wookiepedia lets say 125 fighters per ship as well warhammer ships are built for long fights but outnumbered 2-1 fighting a faster well trained enemy (fuck stormies clones ftw) it would be carnage but the warhammer fleet is done for

Numbers doesn't matter when the size of Republic capital ships are a bit smaller than Imperial escorts and that they'll be able to be picked off from a greater range. Close combat isn't a good idea since the Imperial Navy would probably flood the ships with guardsmen or obliterate them, and unluckily for the Republic, the fleet will be commanded by a Space Marine captain. Which means the fleet will have someone who has at least a century of experience and that there's a few squads of Space Marines in that fleet. So the Republic would be outgunned, probably outmanned when it comes to boarding, and outsmarted.

Unlike the scene from lost world with the small dinosaurs, the IN will be picking off R ships from a large distance, obliterating or overwhelming ships at close range, have a few squads of elite soldiers that can massacre an entire ship, and have captain that would have decades more experience in space combat than anyone in the R. The IN would most likely whittle down the R fleet through various means and strike once the R fleet is at manageable size. IN fleets cap out around 75, and if the source is correct, Battlefleet Cadia caps over a hundred. Also, jedi would have no edge against space marines since they have fought the eldar, an entire jedi like race, and a lightsaber would most likely take an unsafe amount of time to go through a space marine.

+Diarrhea Dan range for both sides is pretty even and the republic shields are built to take on punishment from multiple droid ships I assume they won't be one hit and done and for all the experience of your captain the basic tactical computers and droids aboard the R ships are more than a match. You can send all the boarding parties you want the 1000+ fighters would cut them ribbons before they boarded. Remember the IN had quite a bit of trouble vs the faster void craft of the tau which the R would fly circles around. And Jedi are eldar if eldar were Demi gods as well why use the saber it would be simple enough to crush the space marine in his heavy armor with a thought than a drawn out battle that doesn't favor the Jedi they aren't stupid you know?

I'd go for 40k. They have the superior range and weapons along with better troops if it comes to boarding actions. Star Wars ships can't really deal with ramming actions. I'd give the Star Wars ships the edge in maneuverability but they can't get into a slugfest with the imperium's ships.

That wasnt really a fair comparison... I mean just looking at the ISDs, which are significantly more powerful than the Venators, are outclassed by Sword frigates... Each sword has has 4 laser-based weapon batteries per broadside, a dorsal/ prow double barrelled weapon battery turret and an undisclosed number of Turbolasers and missile banks that are considered secondary weapons in 40K. ISD gets about 60 Turbolasers and a bunch of ion cannons + carrier capacity made up of craft about a tenth of the size of most 40K strike craft in most cases. And that's compared to a more-powerful ISD, not even a Venator, as well as only considering the smallest ships in the 40K standard fleet formations. It's a complete mismatch.
