This is never mentioned on analog drum machines reviews. This sounds the most modern. I was thinking of getting a TR-8 but Im tired of Rolands cloud bullshit and digital. Also looked at the Arturia drum brute but it doesnt sound modern from any reviews I heard(although Im sure I could tweak it). I dunno, this looks great.

Just recently unboxed my Uno Synth after it slept in my basement for a year (feeling like Brian Wilson) and really enjoying how fun and easy it is to use, I feel that I must have this Drum as well. Kinda shocked at myself that I didn't even know of its existence till yesterday though. Oh well, got a Volca Drum since...

I have the Tr-8, but it's crap in my opinion, the faders are crap, they go below the zero point by which they let you hear the sound of the instrument again :-/ also the Tom fader influences the snare volume. And it's very limited in functions. But also the sound coming from the Tr-8 is crap compared with my Korg Volca Sample, Roland MC-808 and Korg Electribe 2 sampler. I've put my Tr-8 up for sale,
@sheepkillindog3 жыл бұрын
@@Guuster00 sold my tr-8 too. Just hated the workflow. I love my drumbrute impact paired with the rhythm wolf. They both run through the pioneer efx-500. This cleans them up and gives me real-time delay and filters. I keep looking at the uno as a fun little portable jam box. Don’t need it but think it could still find it’s own place in a portable set up.

oh man this thing with stereo outs would be too good. still getting one for sure cause I dig the sound. i'll just individually record elements that i want to pan. the way i see it there are better drum machines for studio use (roland tr-8 for example), but this thing is gonna live in my backpack along with the uno synth. since i can save kits and patterns, i'll use this to write with on the go.

Does it support time signatures? I’m in a phase where I’m avoiding 4/4 patterns. It’s so predictable. But the only machine I found so far is Yamaha RM1X. Not even the sequencer of the JD-XA (Roland’s flagship synth), can do longer sequences that 4 bars and is basically fixed to 4/4 if you want to quantize.

Are the analog sounds based on any classic (e.g. 808 or 909)? Or are they own "IKM sounds"? From KZbin-Videos one can hear somehow little own character of the device.

I have a question. It looks really easy to operate and almost all real-time. I absolutely HATE menus. I cringe when a menu is on a piece of music equipment. I am all about knobs, levers, sliders, and controls. So since this looks easy to operate, I would like to purchase one. However, before I do, I want to know if it's possible to program several songs on it? If I was to play a song and I wanted to have drums, I'd like to have something that I can just dial up or push a button and that song will be there and I just play and have my accompinament.

Hey just tweaking the high-hat at 2.50 was cool in itself. Could you code that change between Tweaked-High-Hat #1 and Tweaked-High-Hat #2 within the same rhythm rather than just being constrained to only one type of instrument in any melody. You need two (or more) of these Uno-Drums coupled together so they run with the same time-code but each introduces it's own voiced instruments. Great pattern BTW - sounds like it could be a hit. :-)
@chrisliddiard7254 жыл бұрын
Now if you could record that as autimation, as you turned the high hats,@2:48 that would be boss.. I am trying to think of how i would achieve the same effect on a daw based grove box, and that one feauture alone would justify this box.

No where near either, and the worst part is there's no individual outputs on the unit which means your not going to be able to process each drum sound as far as EQ, effects, compression;etc. If your not looking to use it live in real time, then you can just sample and bring the sounds into your daw. But that kind of defeats the purpose of having the unit.

I know this isn't the right place to ask for help, but I'm desperate...When I attach my new UNO drum to my Windows 10 PC with the included USB cable, the Editor just sits on "Waiting for UNO" with no response. I have tried several different MIDI settings in the Editor, including setting the MIDI input channel to 1 and the output to 10 or other channels. I've tried the setting the MIDI sync to USB; tried the Send PC and Receive PC to ON. Nothing makes the Editor recognize the UNO Drum. IK has not responded to two help requests. WHAT SETTINGS WORK ON THIS DEVICE?
