@@ivboy3300 they are probably abbreviating based on their Japanese pronunciation of the word. Mermaid in Japanese is māmeido, it uses a ma sound so they went "yes marmaid". It can also be seen with Sasori Man where his name is abbreviated as scop instead of scor, since it's scorpion not scopion

Her Special Ability is the Arle Shield, which protects her from garbage attacks. However, It actually delays the garbage from dropping, but it doesn't prevent garbage from adding up nor offsetting. It's far worse in Puyo Puyo~n compared to Puyo Puyo Box.
