Hi, I've got the 40 series torque converter on a 420cc yerfdog. I've upgraded my rollers to medium weight, the rollers jumped the guides like you explained. I also noticed that running back down to idle the torque converter would not actually disengage, does not close completely. then I would hear a click, the weights eventually hitting the stop then I'd see the torque converter actually fully closed. I'm assuming if I upgrade the stock large spring that will solved that problem. other than smoothing both edges of the roller guides is there anything else I could do to eliminate the roller jumping?

Hey Justin! So some people (myself included originally) are hesitant to continue upgrading their 40 Series Torque Converter because they are worried about the performance impact of a new higher "stall" or engagement RPM. If you are experiencing roller jumping my advice is to step up to the heavy springs and lighter than stock rollers. Also the large upgraded compression spring for the driver is also a huge help as well as maintaining proper lubrication of the rollers and channels. After making these upgrades I've been having a great experience with our 40s in even the worst conditions and don't miss the lower stall at all as the kart does not lurch or take off too fast like I was initially concerned about.
