I can sort of understand her point of view about the noise and occasionally riding through her property, but having said that... I don't know you and have only recently started watching your videos, but you seem extremely reasonable and polite. You're doing your best to be a good neighbor while still enjoying your own property as you see fit. I’m working on my dingo too. The two back wheels spin when I have it up on blocks but when I set it down it doesn’t go anywhere. And then my chain snapped. So I ordered a new chain and now I’m trying to figure out the converter. I had one back in 1984 and now my kid has one I love the dingo. I used to do 180 power slides in the middle of the street on mine.

Great video! I have a couple question. I just got what appears to be the exact same go kart as the one in this video. I got it used and have no idea what the part # is for the torque converter. The drive pulley is missing the brass bushing sleeve as well. What is the part #/ model # for the torque converter you have there? Do you just leave that cover off of the clutches that the chinese kit comes with? Have any issues? Also how is the long term update on burning up belts, did the spring kit help?

What are the other 3 Holes for? I heard they are different RPM engaugement. What would be best for top speed over torque? I have had problems with belts getting eaten by the rivet heads. A stronger green spring will keep the pulley sheeve from opening too far and allowing the belt to reach the rivets. I just need to know the different RPM set up's.

been having similar issues with my Tc too. had a crack in the clutch hub. gopower sent me a new one pretty damn fast. I was able to score a Gates belt too. much more durable.

So I have encountered a problem as well with a tav 2 and a 212 predator shredding belts. I get around 6 miles of ride time before the belt starts smoking and breaks. The motor is stock, the setup is on a Baja Warrior. Did the green spring fix the problem?

Any thoughts about one of these cvt belt setups on a Kohler 11hp... I did it and it eats belts like crazy if you are hard on it, but it'll do about 40 mph... and donuts(for a few seconds anyway).

Hey brother, love ur videos... quick question... which belt or what is ur go-to belt size/manufacture (where do u buy ur belts from?) For the 30 series asymmetrical? Also, either for the 30 series asymmetrical w/6inch or 7inch driven pulley. Is there a difference or specific belt to use when going from 6-inch driven pulley (that's what my amazon CVT came with) to a 7-inch driven pulley? Which from my understanding is the original/correct/proper pulley size... so what belt would u use, and where do I get it?. Ps I'm driving a homemade 26" Electra bicycle converted to a motorcycle with pedals via a predator 212cc (45mph)

Hey I bought a go kart with a 212cc predator and it kept breaking belts. So I replaced the rear pully cause it had alot of dents and looked bent and it ran fine all day. Then my son got on it by himself the next day and the belt broke again. What would be causing this ?

My driven pulley sounds like somethings rattling on it. Just started after my last chain started taking a shit. I'm not sure if an old chain could cause that much rattle even tho it's tight. Would new sprokets and chain fix it you think or would the back driven be taking a shit?

We put a 301 predator engine on a hammerhead go kart it's eating these belts up after about 2 mi. Everything is in line everything is right we even ordered the heavy duty belts we're at our wit's end. Do you think this spring is what's causing it?

when you accelerate is it suppose to take off smooth like a clutch or is it suppose to grab and hit hard. Also the go kart keeps tearing up belts with in just a few minutes of riding. The go kart is an old manco dingo that I took the Briggs and Stratton off and put a 212 slightly modded predator on.

I have had some take off kinda smooth and some take of hard. Check your belt alignment and also how smooth the surface of the pulleys are.

Assuming that when you put the spring in a different hole, it'll adjust the torque. But what is the actual specifics, like 1 is lower torque and 3 being the highest.

I find it's easier to hold cap an twist "puck "clockwise 180 degrees. So if small spring hole at top put it on bottom when done. Now keep weight on it an put snap ring back

30 series is the one to go with for that engine. You need to make sure your belt is straight at idle. A miss aliened belt will always wear way faster

In the 4 years since this video, is this still what you would recommend? My tc worked great until i added a stage 1 with bigger jet. Now i can melt a new belt within the hour. My alignment is spot on. Can springs alone save my belts and let me keep my mods? Is there a difference between the 203589/5959 and the 203589A belts? If i go all out for a mile i can stop and see the belt smoke. Bought another tc and the same happens. Very fun and rippy while it lasts but it doesn't. A stage 1 predator 212 is not too much hp for these clutches right?

Hey RedBeard. I bought a Manco Silver Fox 606 for my kids. Just installed the predator 212 have brand new cvt comet knock off. Thing is with my 15yo and my 11yo the belt breaks. Add me at 6ft3 270 yeah that belt is a goner fast. Do you think this will absolutely fix our issue too. We are in Fl extremely flat some minor very minor elevation changes in turf. Im disabled and this is one thing me my kids can do and bond as dad and sons. Is the go power sports belt really that better in quality? I have a 212cc on a Murray with a 30 series tourqe converter everything is Lined. up belt is snug but I keep burning belts

Tu Wilson Belts typically burn out if they're generic belt or wrong fit. Make sure you have some give on the belt, not super snug. You might have too small belt, and of course set the V side on correctly (flat side facing tq converter). Using the GoPowerSports.com 725 belt should permit good usage on your typical Tav2 30 series tq converter and last a long time.

i just installed a series 30 clutch and torque converter on my little cousins kart. The belt mostly just slips on the clutch. It won't do more than a few mph and doesn't go anywhere at the slightest incline. I've tried all 3 pre sets and everything else i can think of. I can see the clutch start to squeeze, but it still doesn't grab the belt. The belt came new with the kit. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Red Beard's Garage it's a whole new kit. New driver, driven, and belt. It was basically doing the same thing with the old set up. I made sure the pulleys are lined up. I even tried changing out the old torque converter with the spring from the new one. The only things i can think of is that we messed up the belt trying to get it working right or the clutch is faulty even though it's brand new. I think tomorrow I'm going to try to find another belt to rule that out. Thanks for the reply.

Red Beard's Garage i had them send a new clutch and belt. It ran slow, so i put the torque converter on the 3rd setting. I didn't see the torque converter opening much. Then it ran pretty well but wore out the belt very quickly. I put the choke on so it was barely spinning so i could watch the clutch. I noticed that the clutch wasn't spinning true. It looked like the piece of the pulley closest to the engine was wobbling a bit while the actual clutch either wasn't or wasn't as much. I changed the spacer and the inside part of the clutch pulley and it seemed the whole thing was wobbling. I thought maybe the shaft wasn't true, but i can't imagine how it could have gotten bent. I also can't see how the pulley or spacer would have caused it since i changed them. I took everything off of the shaft and it looked to be true, but it's hard to tell if there's a slight bend or not. Is the pulley supposed to wobble for for some reason? Thanks.

No, it's likely wobbling because the key inside the pulley isn't lined up to the crankshaft correctly. There sometimes isn't much space left for the key to slide into the shaft on the crankshaft, but it needs to fit in there in that one specific way or it will do exactly as you're describing.

I bought a predator 212 and a torque converter and installed them on my baja mini warrior moto. after my cousin and I came back from the joyride next to the canals the bolt came off of the front disk or whatever it may be called and flew apart after I picked up the pieces and put it back together my bike won't idle and my bike is really difficult to move forward or backwards when the engine is off when it used to be easy. is the reason for that the mud or is it an engine problem because I did wash it afterwards. thanks for your help in advance.

I found the problem. it is the front shaft thats messed up. it is really hard to turn, like for example, if I move the bike while its off the front shaft will get stuck if I move it backwards and if I move it forwards its like moving a car its super hard. I took off the front pulley and the belt, and it moves like a breeze. also my engine won't idle even with the back screw all the way loose to stop the flow of the gas. how is this fixable!? thanks in advanced.

Nathaniel Castellano sometime parts come off due to low quality bolts like my tav2 shaft bolt it flew off on me but glad it flew of in my shed /yard area where its very clean.

Are you sure your engine bolts aren't coming loose? I use all metal lock nuts because I use to have that problem. If you are using #35 chain then that also can be your problem because it is know to be weak
