oh no! looks like you had a good day either way though, there's always something wrong with steam engines that's part of the fun. My polly's safety valve gave up the day before our club's christmas running day 😆 Another advantage of running in winter is it helps highlight all the leaks 😉

Very true! Yes, always something to tweak, but all is good. It's just the cost that becomes a problem!

Look up Chris dalquen travels the moors this is the first garrett on the road I did all the drawing and patterns for the garret if you fit a shrader car tire valve where the oil goes into the block you will never get blowback on your lubricator

That's fantastic. I had a look at the drawing i have and most of them don't have a name on, but there is one with your name. Thanks for leaving the comment - great to understand a little more about the origin of the engine.

@@SteamOTR so you couldn't use the coal dust on the fire wood already burning in the fire box

I thought you'd end up getting the rubbers vulcanised on. A video on this process would be interesting. Thanks for sharing your road run.

It's the cost that's the issue. £1000ish for the vulcanising then they need painting and lining.......

I suppose there's a reason for the twin tyres; I just can't figure out what it might be 🙄

Not for much longer - If I go vulcanised it'll all by one tyre with a groove in the middle turned in to it on a lathe.
