She's alive again! It was just a rear tailshaft CV cage. I'd love to take it back with some front runners and bia ply slicks and get into the 1.6's for the 60ft, should put me into the mid 11's.

@@GapSauceKZbin Funny just replaced my driveshaft also Always something I got a 3.9 o-100 before the spigot bearing and driveshaft failed on street tyres keen to see what that 60 foot is

@@danielash9834 Jesus, that about what I'm getting on drag radials, usually around 4.0 and that's 1.80-1.86 60ft. I can't quite use all my power at the moment, I need a to lift the rear up as it hit the guards when it squats and spins if I launch any harder

Another sick vid bro! GT wins the sound off in my opinion! I am ford biased though 😝 What suspension set up have you got in the GT? My xr6t has full super pro rear end and Ive got some super pro bushes ordered for the front arms but standard shocks and springs all round. Have you got any recommendations for a good shock and spring set up for street and drag appliance. Car makes 391rwkw.

Thanks mate! I run factory bushes with a few nolathanes in there, IMS twin bush hat, xyz rear colovers which work okay for a street strip application, stock front shocks. I'd definitely be quicker with proper drag shocks front and rear.

@@phild1031 They made a small difference to the sound, alot more usuable rpm but not as noticeable as the headers or x pipe. Keen to hear yours when you have them fitted 🙂

To start with, Great vids mate. Love the content and the learning curve that comes with it !! I have a question hopefully you could answer. What torque specs for arp flywheel bolts for the 290? Ford manual says 80nm but I've read arp bolts need to be done tighter to their own specs. Do the bolt heads need to be lubed and is blue locktite enough as I'm not sure about the heat rating of blue or red or the temp a flywheel gets to. Cheers mate

Hi Michael, the ARP bolts will come with their own set or Torques and ARP lube. It's important to use their lube as dry and wet torque valves whilst they appear the same on the wrench, are actually vastly different. The lube they supply ensures an accurate and repeatable torque 🙂

@@GapSauceKZbin the bolts came with my clutch exedy clutch kit but not in arp packaging so no details or lube. I found the part number for these arp bolts (254-2801) and it states to use their lube for the head with locktite 242 for the thread, torqued to 94nm while the factory torque specs are only 80nm. I'm just not sure what to go off. Arp? Thanks for your help mate.

Good question, they are completely different, the bike is very reliable and extremely fast but you cant really use all of it unless you're onnthe track. I have just as much fun on a LAMS Mt-07 on Mt glorious. Ultimately I'm a car guy and the GT is very special to me whereas the bike is just another S1000RR because I haven't modified it too much and mad either my own. I think if I had a sunroof the GT would feel much tha same as the bike in that you feel like you are really outdoors.

Hi Mark, they are fine once you are moving along, but buck around alot under 2000rpm. Quite tricky to tune (I don't drill holes I throttle bodies) Overall, I think they are too big for a stock 290 and required big lobe centreline changes (7degree's on the exhaust) for what I think works best for me. I would like to design a set that makes the same power with better driveability, once my bike sells I'll likely get onto that, very expensive though.

Thanks mate, its a custom twin 3 inch with xpipe dumped at the diff with single redback muffler. 🙂
