I get your point, but their nothing wrong with the LS. It weighs nothing, makes stupid hp with little mods, its a solid and reliable platform and cheap to modify and can be mixed and matched in many different ways with other LS parts. No disrespect to any other motors but their is a good reason people swap soo many of them into cars lol.
@mzondi19708 жыл бұрын
yea but it was nice to keep it Nissan and the sound of that inline 6, you can never get that from an LS

However you had your mics set up for this video was perfect. If that Z is as loud as you said it was in the video then I am seriously impressed. I could actually hear every word from you AND the owner and there was the least amount of droning going on I've ever witnessed in these videos. Keep up that good work! As far as the car is concerned... its fucking rad! I agree with the new Zero Fucks Given title; I know a lot of people who would be butt-hurt about a toyota engine swapped into a nissan platform but it just plain works. This car takes smiles per gallon to a whole new level. Awesome build and kudos to those who built it. It sort of reminds me of Mighty Car Mods' V8 Silvia but less death-inspiring. Hopefully more rides like this 260z make their way over to you for more one takes like this.

+TheSmokingTire Wow. I truly think this is my favorite home-built/engineered builds on One Take, so far. Bravo. Bra-fucking-vo!!! Matt, would you rather it have a smaller diameter steering wheel with power-assist on this ride? How do you think it'd do on the track? Or, is it more suited for the canyons, or what? Good job on the audio, considering the lovely noises that thing makes.
@TheSmokingTire8 жыл бұрын
I don't like cars without power steering unless they are like 1500 lbs. A smaller diameter wheel with power steering would make this car much more enjoyable to drive for anything more than like 15 minutes at a time. I wouldn't go anywhere near a race track with this thing unless he installed a cage with real seats and real harnesses.

Fun to watch. I can only imagine that you had the same 1st impressions as most of us. What exhaust was he using? just a straight pipe headers back?? I have a GE in my IS300 and id love to get a great sound but most of the straight pipes i hear are just like shaking a tin can of steel balls... So far the best sound ive heard retained all 3 cats... THIS however, sounds BEAST!

3" straight pipe
@Random122318 жыл бұрын
I had an HKS catback with a generic catless mid-pipe off eBay on my IS300. Sounded like a proper 2JZ, got a lot of compliments. The HKS system was not cheap or easy to find unfortunately, but worth the work in the end
@NismoNick240sx8 жыл бұрын
Because it's not header back - it's turbo back. Big difference. Straight piped turbo engines are really fuckin loud, but sound cool. Straight piped non-turbo engines are even louder, and sound like shit. The exhaust has to flow through the turbine(s) on a turbo engine, which intercepts some of the exhaust sound.

Actually, going to a modern single twinscroll turbo adds power to the whole rpm range and it becomes much better, more responsive than that old twinturbo setup.
@martinl64968 жыл бұрын
people usually just bang on a larger single scroll turbo = more lag and torque is higher up in the rpm. Farah's probably digging the fact that the old school sequential set up = lower down torque and boost from 1 turbo so you dont have to wind it out as much.
@jeffk4648 жыл бұрын
Yeah, twin scroll is a nice setup. Larger displacement engines that have small turbos that come on early and keep a flat torque curve are pretty great too.

Humm...I wonder just how fast this car is??? 0 to 60 in???
@SBcarshow8 жыл бұрын
0 to 60 is a pointless number unless all you do is stoplight to stoplight racing 60 to 130 on the other hand....

If you do the math, the best case 0 to 60 would be 3.1 seconds. In reality, it would be a bit slower for sure.

Absolute beast. Lot of comments on how it looks, interior sucks, blah blah blah, yatta yatta yatta. This car is meant to be driven; our boy matt has driven a lot of cars. Many high dollar ones. I have yet to see this pure genuine pleasure of a reaction from him, only thing I would do is a power steering. Other than that it seems like a twisty killer.

Loved this video. Props to the owner and his buddies that built this car!!! Matt may not have been "politically correct" at all times during this video, but I think it just shows through that he's a real car guy, and he's having a great time. Great work!
