The man speaks volumes at 2:43, where he says: "...and there really isn't any good videos kinda showcasing it, *or showing you guys what it does* ..." Yup, he's right. After two weeks and many preorders later, it takes none other than Casey 250 to provide consumers with a "good" video that actually shows what the Wave does and the full components needed to run the thing properly. Not EcoFlow, mind you... but Casey 250.(ok, HOBOTECH gave a little look too on May 12th, but that is splitting hairs). But still here we are, nearly two weeks after Ecoflow's "launch" of the Wave on their "professionally-maintained" website, nearly two weeks after EcoFlow's own breathtakingly vacuous debut video, after nearly two weeks... here comes this KZbin dude to fill the gaping void left by the manufacturer. This says a lot about EcoFlow as a company. I'm actually hoping that the Wave ultimately proves itself to be a great product-- one that I can incorporate into my van build. But EcoFlow has a long way to go in terms of becoming the Shenzhen, China based company in which one can place a lot of trust. Thanks a bunch for this video, Casey 250. Seriously!

I went to the site to see what you get for the money. Its on sale right now for $1199.00, regular is $1499.00. It DOES NOT COME WITH A BATTERY, you must buy a battery for and additional $899.00 or plug it into a power source to operate. $1800 for the AC and battery right now, or 2400 once the sale is over.......... 5:52 Dual hose, that's a bonus. Most people who have single hose units don't realize that they suck hot air into your house/room. Try to explain that to someone and they just get confused or angry.
@randybobandy9828
@randybobandy9828 2 жыл бұрын
People are dumb... if youbare exhausting air via the AC unit than air has to come from somewhere to replace the exhausted air. That air comes from outside and heats up your living space. Thats why portable AC units are way less efficient for the same rating vs a window or especially a split unit.
@batvette
@batvette Жыл бұрын
You can easily convert many single hose ACs to dual hose. It depends on how the case is constructed, if there is good isolation of the coils.
@sky73x
@sky73x Жыл бұрын
@@randybobandy9828 While I might be one of the dumb ones, to me it defies logic to have air intake drawing in hot outside air just for the machine to have to work harder to cool the air? In the case of the EcoFlow Wave placing the unit inside a tent/RV, etc - wouldn't it achieve a compound cooling effect by exhausting the unit's hot air to outside (lower rear piping) - but for the hot air intake (upper rear piping) have that draw the cooler from inside for it overall to be cooled more efficiently? Similar to the re-circulation button on a car AC etc?
@randybobandy9828
@randybobandy9828 Жыл бұрын
@sky73x no the intake air doesn't mix with the cool air. It simply pulls air over the condenser to cool off the refrigerant that is super hot from being compressed from a gas to a liquid. Using the air inside the tent/room will make that process slightly more effective but the trade off is much worse. You now have created negative pressure in the room which will draw in hot air from outside. The better thing to do is just increase the fan speed over the condensing coil to remove the heat faster. Thats why dual hose portable AC units are superior to single hose units

If you have a 24v battery solar system, you can plug the solar port on the Ecoflow and run it for 11 hours using the potable battery that is on the bottom of the Ecoflow Wave. You would. Need adapter I think it's call mc4. Adapter. This will pump 208 watts of juice into the solar port of the Ecoflow Wave , don't forget to set it for 8 hours to make it last for 11 hours. The guy name HoboTech did it , you should watch his video.

Thank you for actually doing a video on this. I am deciding on if this is worth spending an extra $600-700 over a regular portable A/C for my truck camper. The main feature for me is the size. It is a lot smaller compared to other units with similar BTU ratings. I only have a truck camper shell, so space is very limited. The other option I am thinking of is finding a way to install a window unit, but havnt come up with a solution yet that would allow me to quickly setup and take down a window unit.

I checked the numbers on this thing and they don't add up. The attached battery is only 1kWh. EcoFlow states: "Under cooling mode, how long can Wave battery pack, DELTA Max, and DELTA Pro support the operation of Wave? It depends on the battery you choose to use: Wave add-on battery: 3 hours DELTA Max: 5-6 hours DELTA Pro: 12 hours Note: Assumes average power consumption of 300W per hour for Wave under 26° with the lowest volume of air" The note is huge. The battery only lasts 3 hours at 300 watts usage. 300 watts means the fan is blowing at the lowest setting, and the compressor is only coming on infrequently. If this thing were set to its max cooling mode, I'd bet the attached battery would last less than an hour. To me that is approaching gimmick territory for the price. Not even the DELTRA Pro would allow more than 3-4 hours of constant cold air from this unit. Air conditioning is an energy intensive endeavor, no way around it.
@something2sea
@something2sea 2 жыл бұрын
Although you're right, in an appropriate-sized room, the compressor won't need to be running all the time. Once the room gets to temperature, it's only coming on every now and then. Would it be nice if it could run the compressor constantly for 5hrs from the built-in battery? Sure! But that doesn't mean it's useless. In a small room it might actually run okay.
@Dodaniel1986
@Dodaniel1986 2 жыл бұрын
@@something2sea I hope you are right. but actually, you can only set the temperature of blowing out air. it doesn't allow you to set the target temperature for the whole space. it means that the unit stop cooling only because the battery level is not enough for the time you set, not because it reached the target temperature.

In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Air conditioners are most efficient when the hot side is cooled with outside air. When you use inside air to cool it, that expelled air now creates a low pressure area that sucks in hot outside air through all cracks and crevices. " @EcoFlow The problem is it being electric versus disposing of the heat to boil the nitrogen that spins the compressor concentrating the heat to above water boiling temperature or in a hybrid design (all rights reserved!) uses the incredible forces of boiling nitrogen to tear water apart into gas and release that vapor perhaps only the hydrogen keeping the oxygen to charge your batteries lol. There are not good small generators nor did you allow mechanical energy input to this machine which is not hard. The silent revolution of controlling btu allows analog drive as well- i.e. pedalled chillers. Water is VERY cheap to use as a source of tremendous heat deprived vapor. Turning it into it's high mass state- mist, steam, fog, saps huge amounts of heat which is how we cool but not so much ever with machines, just sweaty mounds of wool where it is 130 degrees now over our bodies and our beards etc. I hope your product makes people think about how absurd it is to need dry air to evaporate water off there skin- water they have to drink!!! Vacuum ICe technology, is not controlled. It's common not yet enough sense but can't be policed, was sold for a mere billion and no longer distills water etc.. no longer makes snow for extended skiiing sessions. Liquid nitrogen can be sold at every walmart instead of dry ice in a heartbeat. Windmills can make it instad of obsolete electricity duh. It can be taken to shore cheaply in insulated hoses currently used to offload LNG. One of the four letter corporations makes that hose and trades most volatile. Heat is energy. Don't ask how to power an air conditier- ask what work you need done? BOILING NITROGEN IS WORK DUH!!! Spinning the compressor to increase the temperature of the heat you are removing is work!!! By concentrating heat you boil far less nitrogen aka cool more efficiently? TRACK THIS!!!! Stardard compressors depend upon cool air massive amounts because of feeble motors.... But ironically nitrogen can make room heat radiantly hot aka like a incondescent lightbul nearly say so you dcon't waste work blowing air lol Some argue such concentration is inefficient and of course that depends minimal efficiency gains but they are free so why not? 4,000 btu is a high number because of the insane way you are cooling to customer. By properly cooling people you can reduce the N demands to those liters easally condensed at home duh especially if wind etc. power is available. imagine a pressure cooker except goal is keeping metal bottom cold.... suck from vent on lid that causes water to 'boil' anytime you put water ina cnotainer and reduce the presssure it will evaporate faster and faster!! Get colder and colder!! water is too cheap to bother condensing but is also far cheaper to condense then some battery powered shindig like this unit!!! ironically when distilling water the pump is as large as possible. but again massive output our goal is to keep a few humans below overheating i.e. provide cooler then them material..... ]and we run hot!!! Going into 50's or below is insane waste 80's are chilly duh!!! CONTACT NOT AIR!! air can be chillng above body temp of course if you condense the sweat before it increased the humidity! But condensing sweat wtih ultralow temps is no tnecessary if the sweat is not from our body. but int he dam pan with ethe lid pistons can do both one piston can like burning hydrogen turn all the liguid into gas/water but instead water into vapor duh.... another piston (outside or against surface that radiates duh) can pump the heat out of vapor by compressing it to liquid i call that snapping it water is like that ... bubble wrap or a clothing snap instead of noise heat and when you unsnap your coat it feels cold right? SO does the snap when it is the phase of water forcing it to take more space .. not using the dam weight of our atmospher to push water into such a crowded situation all hte heat and some mass explodes out of it and then it seems like a liquid.... like yoiu could squirt it in outerspace!!! wrong it's molecules stuck together by miles of air a drop forced to take a spindle sewing term... an according can evaporate a drop of water by creating space for it to be vapor when you stick you hand into a bottle with a low pressure you don't need water in there nor a draft!!! The sweat leaves your skin as vapor fast! Put pressure socks on yoru feet and ankles but that are porous to sweat... ]and again remove the air around that allows sweat to be liquid and yoru cool refrigerants being used indirectly are not how you micro the world into not overheating dry air prevents evaporation duh just like wet air!!! LESS AIR! Very low amount of vacuum even do the trick to go below 98 so few btu so few square inches of water surface with simulated "HIGHER ALTIGUDE DUH" Store water vapor for later condensiing even thta's also cheap so littel need be turned to vapor to keep you cool all day long duh a roomful"? do the math dry cleaner bags full? more like it!! all vapor in outerspace is conserved it is easy to pull on pistons in outerspace if you have airpressure on one side duh yet for decades we ignore what we knew and applied"

You lost me when you started typing. What are you trying to prove? How smart you are? The average person can’t understand you! WTH! Save your comments for the peanut gallery. All I hear is verbal diarrhea. If you are legit, where are your videos of cooling methods? Or are you just hiding behind your keyboard making fun of others?

How well it cools is nothing to do with conditions. The device has a maximum cooling capacity. What is it? It will be known by the factory how much the percentage reduction of temperature could be. Can this device take in air at 100f and cool it to say 70 in a smallish tent or room.. Conditions are irrelevant.. can it go from 110f to 75f? Again conditions are irrelevant. The only factor is can it get to between 71 to 74f in summer? The only condition is size of room but 4000 btu is a lot, so big claims need to be backed up by evidence. If this device can only cool a room to 74f because the incoming air is 75f then it's crap. Conditions have nothing to do with it. Show us the sliding scale of efficiency for the device..the factory will have it .
