Thank you Andy! Never knew about that screen. Put in new lower shaft seals and new oil w/filter this past fall on 4320. 4020 also. These old tractors will run forever if taken care of. The new eqt. is junk to start with.

if your hydraulic fluid gets water in it, the fluid can develop an algea problem and coat the screen with a gelatinous goo that can starve your pump and you may loose some or all of your lift and even steering problems may develop. Run your fluid through a few times plug it and pull the plug 3 or 4 times to flush algea or particules out then put a fresh filter on and run it with a mower on it to get it warm and flush the system and another new filter and new fluid. i regained all smooth lifting on 3 point and super smooth steering .

If you can't pull the screen out it has the exact bolt on the other side and you can push it out.

Do you think you could check that screen without draining all the fluid
@andylonsdorf129411 ай бұрын
I have heard people putting a vacuum on a hydraulic fluid chamber to do filter change, but I don't think it works on the screen.

What sort of lift problems were you having other than the leaks? And did cleaning the strainer help? How did you clean the strainer? Since the video cuts off. I have a 4020 also but no idea what to do about it not lifting .

Lift eradicate. Cleaning steainer did help some. Clean with brake clean and bristles brush. Get a maggot in there to metallic filings out and as much fluid.

Next will probably be you changing your hydraulic pump . That metal came from somewhere .
@BJSmith-ll3uw Жыл бұрын
It can be brake material also.
@lifeonthefarm6001 Жыл бұрын
Could be brake pads, of the clutch pads since it’s a power shift. I’ve had this happen on a 4450 quad range and a 4640 power shift.

Does the trans have to be drained to pull the strainer ?
@andylonsdorf12946 жыл бұрын
Yes 15 plus gallons

Never mix different brands of hydraulic oil the additives can have can have a reaction against each other and eat the seals out
@danw60142 жыл бұрын
@@mrnascar9129 best bet is to stick with John Deere hygard because its formulated to work with the clutch packs and wet brakes.

Not sure but look. If you change fluid that be the time to pull it out.
