The Formd T1 was a case I really wanted to build in for a long time but couldn't get ahold of. Ended up going with a regular built but one day I'll have one

Just in-case it might help someone in the future. I ran into the same issue with the T1v2 and an EK 120 basic. Turns out the AM5/AM4 backplates are 6/32 threaded and A good pair of Klein wire strippers typically have a 6/32 screw cutting hole that won't damage the threads. They can be picked up for $20 to $30 US at most hardware stores. It also seemed the fan mounting holes on the radiator were 6/32 threaded as well. So I custom cut some standard 6/32 screws (Also available at most hardware stores) and was able to install washers pushing the rad right up against the top panel.

looking forward to it man. Gonna do the same but with 7950x3d.

Might be a bit too much cooling that one. Although, in the T1 v2 with proper fans it should be morethan fine.

wow that frosted tubing is going to be so pretty when it gets properly installed. what color coolant do you intend to use?
@EIGAtech
@EIGAtech Жыл бұрын
Yeah, definitely will pay off in terms of aesthetics. I will go for regular clear coolant. Maybe the frosting will catch some diffuse light from the motherboard leds, but usually I turn those off as they aren’t that great and awkwardly positioned.

3:43 Sometimes when filing down screws it helps to screw them into a nut/bolt first. That way, when you unscrew them, the thread on thread contact can clean up some imperfections caused by the filing process. If the screw won't unscrew all the way, you know you have a problem.

I purchased a Titanium V2.1 recently, wish FormD would go back to finishing all of the parts the same color not just use the same internal and rear panels between all of the colors. I know it makes it more cost effective but the case is over $200 so we are paying a premium.

Nice Video - just proceed like this. When I will rebuild my t1 with 4090FE i will use Eisbär Solo, legris fittings and 240er hpe with 3xA12x25 😜

Thanks! I've seen people using those pneumatic fittings and I think it's really cool and less headaches. I certainly did not make it easy for myself (intentionally, however).

Wow this is great and inspirational i have a formd t1 v 2.0 and I’d love to design a similar gpu support system for it. I use a 4080 in mine and the only thing supporting it is the riser bar and the gpu lock bar. Subbed!
@EIGAtech
@EIGAtech Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I did very briefly look at the v2.0 and thought how I would do it. You could use the power button holes but that could prove difficult to measure/install due to the front panel being one piece. Simplest may be to design a foot that goes down to the bottom panel, which could be secured through the vent holes.

man, I want to do the formd t1, but I'm also relatively concerned about future gpu compatibility.
@EIGAtech
@EIGAtech Жыл бұрын
If I did not already have it, I would instead look towards a Dan C4-SFX.
@haloshiroe
@haloshiroe Жыл бұрын
@@EIGAtech I considered the DAN C4-SFX but what really caught my eye recently is the M1 EVO, especially with the tempered glass front panel. The looks are similar enough to the T1 and being a bit larger seems to have better gpu compatibility, so even if the cards end up oversized I'll still have plenty of space.
