I am really not sure. If you are referring to Passat CC, it has a different ELV unit.

I have an 05 VW Touareg that displays 'Steering Defective Workshop' . From what I can tell it is a defective steering wheel lock. Does this kit work for the 05 VW Touareg?

I only sell parts not the replacement service. Order the parts from the link in the comments and find a nearest electronics repair shop, they will be able to replace the relays.

Love how the relays just drop right out. Isn’t happening for me at all. Can’t get the relays off the donor board or my board. I really think that you are showing this on a board that has already been unsoldered before.

I had the same issue, wouldnt budge using an iron. What i did was ply the points with leaded solder and use a heat gun at 330c for a few seconds (enough to melt the solder) and they just fell out

@@wesday5261 I had done the exact same thing as you did with the heat gun to remove the relays. Using RossTech VCDS, I was getting a 00288 -Steering Column Lock Actuator Lock (N360) 008-"Implausible signal" error and after soldering the new relays, I get 009-"Open or Short to ground". Is there any way that I have damaged the PCB board or is it something else like the lock motor itself is bad? From what I have seen on the internet, the VCDS message should be "Defective" but not my situation. If I did damage the PCB board, is there anyway to just remove microchip on the PCB to another donor lok actuator so no programming with the Kessy module is needed?

@@wesday5261 Actually this was the first desoldering of the original relays. JBC irons have a superior heat conduction to other soldering stations, it's really a pleasure to work with this equipment. I just tin the existing leads heavily and then melt them all together.

Hi, i think i have got this problem on my touareg: no ignition, battery ok, steering wheel locked...For the moment thé workaround is to disconnect/reconnect the battery and everything run fines...i check everytimes on vcds After thé reconnection, but i don t have the 0288 error. Is it a stored error that i Can check After thé battery boot or it s just displayed when the steering wheel is blocked ? I just want to bé sûre that it will correct thé problem After the order, thanks

Obviously you erase the error codes when you reconnect the battery. From your description you have this common problem with electronic lock module which you will solve with the kit I sell. Best regards.

@@vagrepaircenter Other than the dash displaying the Steering Defective Workshop, the car will not turn on or communicate with the vagcom. The steering lock failed in the open position so had to drill a hole in the case to remove the final screw.

@@AMO248 when trying to diagnostics, turn on the hazard lights, press brake pedal, and pull the high beam stick, then try to enter diagnostics. This routine will enable you power supply on diagnostics socket. Then try to reset error codes.

@@paulhbrown Try turning on high beams, foot on the brake and hazard lights then try to read out the error codes. This procedure works on Audi/VW vehicles to enable power to diagnostics socket.

Is it possible to disable this lock by disconnecting the battery when lock is disenged then opening the housing and disconnecting the wires to the motor and put it back again...do you know if it will work like this

I am not sure. You can open the housing and manually unlock it by turning the motor.

@@vagrepaircenter Thank you for your answer i found the solution. You have to unlock the stereing column somehow and then you can unscrew this metal plate through small hole. If your column is locked you will not be able to do it because lock is in different position so you will not see this screw. Thank you for your video i`m waiting now for parts to replace. Hope it will help because my car is dead now ;)

I am really not sure, probably if you swap ST microcontroller from your pcb to the new/used one, it should work. I am not familiar if there is an EEPROM IC on the pcb but I can check, give me 1 day.

You can test it but for now I did not have anybody to complain that the motor is bad.

Well, i fixed it. Way easier that i expected. Replaced both relays and the motor. Works like new.

I am about to purchase this module repair kit it on ebay., the problem I have is that it won´t recognize the key when I introduce or turn the ignition. I´ve heard that if this happens once, it will happen again any time soon. Will this fix that problem., or can you please let us know what exactly does this fix. Hi,I had tried this fix and replace both the relays and pop the module back. The fault has been cleared but the car still won’t start, and the lock now clicking on off quickly.(in the mid i manage to turn my steering a bit while the lock clicking)
