Big reality check for Ineos this window. They’re seeing what we’ve been talking about for years. Player power, can’t get rid of deadwood, high wages, crippling financial mismanagement. And what does all of this result in? Poor ETH is heading into another season with essentially the exact same team that finished 8th last season. And before I hear the “he has his own signings” nonsense, at least half of the starting 11 will be players he’s inherited from multiple managers. Which is crazy considering all the other successful prem managers were allowed to clear out completely within a season, two tops

Ivan Toney for £40 million is a good deal but.....I'd rather we bought De Ligt and got a CDM in first. Just common sense that those positions are genuinely urgent problems. As for the right back....Dalot was our player of the season last year and Wan Bassaka is a capable backup. Not saying that position can't be improved but it's way down the list of priorities and Ashworth etc are there to do that.

Amrabat got unfair criticism. He started playing for us out of position at LB and even then I thought we saw glimpses of how well he can ping the ball around the pitch. In the 6 position with Mainoo in the 8 playing more minutes I think we would see the best of him!

He looked better at left back than he did in midfield, where he was truly awful. Don't let couple of decent performances at the end of the season against tired players fool you. He is one of the worst passers I have ever seen at United and gets pushed of the ball far too easily.

If ineos knew they didn’t have alot of money to work with then they should have done what liverpool did last year when they rebuilt their midfield and brought in szobozolai gravenberch mcallister and endo and shored up the whole middle of their midfield… It know its tough to say how well they did but then they are going to add zubimendi in as well is just shockingly good business and i would say the same no matter what team had got that done because united are just trying get 1 signing to fix our centerback and he got injured in less than a week… typical united betting it all on one player instead of being smart and having a plan.

That new kid Obi-Martin has been reportedly promised as our 3rd choice striker so unless they convinced him that Zirkzee is not a striker so they could bring in Toney or we already have 2 strikers and we wouldn't be able to get Toney without lying to the kid. That's not how it works. He's not free until next summer and isn't allowed to sign an agreement now. He could sign one in January, to move next summer for free, but only with an overseas club. The PL doesn't allow clubs to sign PL players until one month before their contract ends.
