From 0-100 they did pretty much the same time because the R32 mk4 was already moving at 10 kph when the mk3 VR6 was not yet moving , so the first at 100 kph and the second at 90 with 1 second to spare means they both hit 100 at the same time(this two cars thought, this dont means that this two models do the same 0-100 lol). Check between 1:17-1:18

The 2.8 sounds nice and smooth. I'd much rather drive the em-kay-free every day. The exhaust on the .:R is a deal breaker for me... But, I currently drive a 660cc 3 cylinder. So, I'd gladly drive either VR.

in my opinion the vr6 it's sounds much better , it's clean and deeper ..and the test it's not fair !! the VR6 it's 2.8 (180.hp) and the R32 it's 3.2 (240 hp) so my conclusion the vr6 it's maybe old ...but it the best !!!

Sort of and no!...the 12v 2.8vr6 engine has no interchangeable parts with a 24v 2.8 vr6, the 3.2 is a bored and stroked version of the 24v 2.8vr6

Just as a bit of information, people saying they have the same engine is right in one way, but then again-the mk3 vr6 had about 175bhp from the factory and the mk4 r32 has between 210-250 depending on how lucky the person who bought the car is as they seem to vary massively 😂 although of course the mk3 is lighter

Wie man sieht hat der VR6 Fahrer ab 200 die Handbremse angezogen, damit der R32 hinterher kommt ;) Zum Sound sag ich als ehemaliger VR6 Fahrer mal nüschte, die Präferenz sollte klar sein. Allerdings hat meiner bis 7k gedreht, ohne Software... (Orig. 92er Vento VR6).

I believe the MK4 (24 valve) VR6 is faster than the MK3 (12 valve) VR6 shown in this video. I would think that the 24 valve VR6 would be much closer to the R32 times.

Power ! I agree the exhaust note nice sound, not like the raspy sound on the VR6 in between shifts I can't stand that shit like all them young kids put a huge coffee can muffler on their rice burners. I am an American car guy especially V8's no sound like my LS2 6.0 liter in my 06' GTO only did basic cold air intake, cat back exhaust and a 160° thermostat a it made a big difference, it really woke up the engine at around 2700 - 3200 RPM. The car pulls like a freight train now in first gear I can't even give it half throttle or it will just tear up the tiers, before the mods it didn't move like it does now. So if you have a LS2 spend about 1200 bucks and do them three things and you will be happy with the results, I really want to have it tuned I that will make the mods I did benefit from each other. Put a LS motor in a VW GTI believe me that would be a nasty GOLF GTI, I would take a VW over a rice burner any day.

So Mitte der 90er fand ich es als damaliger Calibra Turbo Fahrer immer extrem lustig, wenn jemand mit einem Golf VR6 oder 2.9er Corrado VR6 meinte, er hätte ein schnelles Auto unter dem Arsch :D Wurde ich angeblinkt, bin ich immer rüber auf die rechte Spur, habe ihn beschleunigen lassen, bis er auf gleicher Höhe war und ihn ins entäuchste Gesicht geguckt, wenn ich aufs Gas getreten habe und ihm das Gefühl gab, dass er gerade steht. Selbst der R32 ist ja gerade mal 0.1 Sek schneller auf 100 als ein serien Calibra Turbo. Die meisten Turbos hatten allerdings mindestens einen Phase 3 Chip und großen LLK drin und ca. 330 anstatt 204 PS. Da ist so ein Gölfchen natürlichkein Vergleich mehr. Aber immer noch süß zu sehen, wie die Leute glauben, sie hätten mit einem serien VR6 eine "krass fette Karre" unter dem Arsch! :)

Es gibt Leute wie du die negieren eben Fakten und Tatsachen. Verdrehn alles so lange bis es in ihre Weltanschauung passt. Leider hat es dann mit der Realität nichts mehr zu tun. Fakt ist ! das ein serienmäßiger Calibra C20LET nie "schneller" von Messwerten war wie sein Pedant der Corrado VR6 mit 190Ps! Das konnte er alleine schon aufgrund des Gewichts nicht sein und die beiden trennen SERIE nur Nuancen. Ebenso im sportlichen Einsatz zb. bei damaligen Tests auf Rennstrecken sämtlicher Fachmagazine der Corrado trotz! Frontantrieb immer agiler und noch ein Stück besser als Calibra mit Allrad abgeschnitten hat.Weiterhin ist der C20LET ein Turbomotor und damit in "ungedrosselter" Version mit Software oder weiteren Modifikationen überhaupt nicht mit einem Sauger wie dem VR6 zu vergleichen! Wie schlau muss man sein um festzustellen das getunte 300+Ps und massig Drehmoment schneller sind als 190 Sauger Ps mit 245Nm.Ja genau ! Da ist so ein Gölfchen natürlich kein Vergleich mehr! Sehr gut bemerkt!! Nur warum vergleichst du ihn dann!!?? Aber Moment ich rede mal in deiner Sprache. Ein getunter Corrado VR6 Turbo mit sagen wir 500Ps (das ist übrigens das was ein VR6 im Serienzustand mit Serienteilen problemlos wegsteckt! und das untere Ende der Skala beim VR6 Tuning) rasiert schon mit der Leistung so ziemliche jedes Fahrzeug bis in die 700Ps Klasse von heute. Da ist so ein "Calibrachen" natürlich kein Vergleich mehr. Ausser er ist vielleicht Krass getunt EY. Aber bevor es überhaupt dazu kommt das ein Calibra die Chance hat Leistung zu bekommen, ist die Karosse einfach nur weg gefault. Denn im Gegensatz zum krass fetten Opel wurde der Corrado schon damals für die Ewigkeit gebaut & konserviert. Was man heute im Straßenbild sieht ist leider nicht zu leugnen. Der Calibra ist trotz viel! höherer Stückzahlen ein Grotte vor dem Herrn und die ewigen Jagdgründe verschwunden. Eigentlich schade weil es ein bis heute Zeitloses Fahrzeug war. Sich dann aber noch hinzustellen und diesen Rosteimer der bis auf die C20XE/LET Motoen in der Wurzel nichts getaugt hat noch zu feiern....na Hut ab. Opel konnte seit Ende der 80er nur eins- einen guten 16V und den Reihensechser C30SE im Omega. Der Rest- Karossen, Verarbeitung , Materialien waren da schon am Tiefpunkt. Da nützten auch die 5/10tel Beschleunigung nichts mehr.
