There’s an airbnb cave in France. Cost us less than €50 per night for 2 people. The hosts are so friendly, they made us dinner on our last night there. And when a French made you dinner, it’s like appetizer, main course and dessert plus a cheese plate and a lovely self made red wine.

If you are looking for a special place to stay in Amsterdam, I recently noticed the bridge houses( houses that used to be for the bridge keepers, who opened and closed the bridges over the canals) being remodeled into hotels! I think it was called sweets hotel Amsterdam. I'm not sure if they're already available or still being build, but the locations are amazing and it seemed like a sick concept to me!

I recommend two places easy on your wallet, but as good as anything here: Hamoana, in Laiji, Alishan, Taiwan; stay in the artist Pu-u's glass tents, and (in season) drink coffee grown right nearby. Beautiful mountain views in a small indigenous village. Hu Pin Khaung Daing Village Resort, Inle Lake, Myanmar. The rooms extend out onto the lake. They are handmade; the only power tool I saw was a drill.

I’ve seen some of these places featured before, in other articles, but most were new to me. They all looked interesting, in the most elastic sense of that word, but I would never go to some of those places. Ice is not my thing and I wouldn’t sleep hanging off the side of some mountain if they paid me to do it. There were others I would travel to, though; they seemed fun. I was surprised to find that a few of them are actually pretty near where I live. As for the money, you have to save up for it, like any vacation. I haven’t had a proper vacation in years and I am way past due.

One cool hotel I recommend is The Mangrove in Sanya, China. Everything is soo modern. There are no buttons in the hotel including the rooms and elevators. Also, even the cheap rooms are great! Go there sometime!
