I made a slight mistake, Gaep appears to have nothing to do with OMV. I was thinking Gaep made the OMV press. I was wrong.

Very cool! I started loading for ducks for next year already. Playing with some .410 3" #9 tss, so far they are lookin good.

I can appreciate you're enthusiasm for reloading. I'm getting older and mostly reload for hand guns, but seems like a job to me, but I do have enough 38sp and 357 for the coming apocalypse lol. Now starting on 45acp.

@@theshotgunscientists as do I. It's such a versatile and handy skill set to have. Although I'm not sure how to get the sulfur smell out of my shop. I've been running an Ozone machine for days and the smell still persists lol.

@@theshotgunscientists Hey man how do you clean your "spent" hulls? I'm searching through YT right now but I'd rather ask someone who knows what they are doing and someone I can trust. Thank you. Side note: ever thought of making a video of this?
@theshotgunscientists Жыл бұрын
@@JoshMo1993 You don’t clean them, there’s no way to get them looking new again. For the metal part, just use some 0000 steel wool and it’ll polish it back to bright. The plastic will never look new again though.

really cool video. I think I will give it a try. I found the omv crimpers at BPI and the arbor, but where did you get the bushing to fit the lee load all

Thanks, Measured a 12 gauge since that’s what I load. A 20 mm diameter, rubber bushing. Should do nicely. You take a washer on the top, You can tighten it to make it fit a little snugger, Or loosen it to If it is too tight. I found a bunch on Amazon with the 6 mm diameter hole that should fit the arbor

The Remington holes have loaded extremely well for me. Probably better than any others. Although I find after I reload for 10 shells once, they end up being too crispy or the pedals break apart and I can really only get one maybe two reloads out of them… Haven’t quite figured that out yet.

That 3/4 ounce load has to be a squirrel getter supreme. What is the usual velocity? I usually think of a .410 as a special purpose tool for squirrels and rabbits, so a good payload and tight pattern is what you can really use.
@theshotgunscientists Жыл бұрын
About 1100 or 1050 fps. Using h110 you can get a little better speed.

I've seen the OMV tools on BPI's site, but not with the black plastic or rubber piece to make it fit in the Load-All. Do you have any specifications or part number that was used to make that part of the tool?
@theshotgunscientists11 ай бұрын
It’s a 4/5” expansion plug about 3/4” tall. It’s not meant to be used with the omv tools I’m probably 1 of 2 different people doing it this way.

@theshotgunscientists9 ай бұрын
I’ve done videos with them in 24, 28, .410, 32 and 10 gauge using new hulls. Better than any press by a lot. You can get factory style or better crimps.
