Yeah man that’s been there for almost 2 years lol it’s a 10 gauge socket slug. The people that built joshes uncles house behind the pond found it buried like half a foot into the hill. 1 in and million chance of finding one and it just happened to hit right where his driveway eventually got carved out.
@bradkuz76

@@theshotgunscientists did you guys give up on the socket slug development? I've still got a prototype on my toolbox for a slug that fits inside a wad. I need to find some time to work on it. My full bore 12 gauge slugs seem to work pretty good. Im guesing the wad will destroy the accuracy like the vLee drive key slugs. Thanks for making content thats fun to watch.

Love the channel, keep up the great videos! I reload with a MEC, and I know you use a separate powder measure...but you forgot to cover what a pain in the ass it can be to empty the hoppers in the Lee Load All.
@theshotgunscientists
@theshotgunscientists 2 ай бұрын
I find it very easy. Just take the press off, over one side with your hand and pour it out into a bowl. Or, drill a hole all the through one side of the red bushing holder and tape it to the press, or just hold it down, empty one side, turn the bushing holder the other way then empty the other side. Mec is definitely easier though, but you can make the Lee easy too. I really really wish I had covered that lol.

Great video. You do know you're the only one on KZbin that has ways to convert the Gaep using 3/4"-7/8" freeze plug to work on the Lee Load all 2 . I really appreciate your time and would love to see a complete showing of who has the hull trimmer wad slitter. Would you consider letting everyone know who and how to reach out to different people for reloading components that make life easier in reloading.

I’ll be doing a full video on tools I use too. The crimp tools I use can also be used on a mec. That is the #1 upgrade you can do for any press, the ribassatore tools.

Just got a load all, I don’t trust the bushing either, I’ve heard people say you have to keep the hopper over half to be accurate, which is stupid

Thanks for the video Tyler. I was wondering if you could show how you modified the GAEP Ribassatore to fit in the pre-crimp station of the Lee Load-All 2. You mentioned the use of an expansion plug, but would it be possible to see how you did it? Thanks in advance.

It’s just an expansion plug screwed to it and slit into the tube, no mods at all.

I’ve been gathering supplies to reload but haven’t actually begun. I got a deal on a Mec 600 Jr Mark V, but when watching your videos and seeing all of your tips and tricks (almost all) pertaining to the Lee Loadall, I wonder if I should have gotten a Lee to take advantage of your excellent information? Is there a good channel for Mec 600 instruction that you’d recommend or would you recommend I put mine up for sale and buy a Lee? 😉 I appreciate all of your great information - thank you!

I should mention my plan is to load 10 gauge 3.5” turkey loads, 12 gauge 3” & 3.5” turkey loads and maybe some 2.75” dove loads and maybe some 16 gauge 2.75” dove and turkey loads. None of would be anywhere near the volume of shells you guys load!

If you have a mec I would not get rid of it. I’ve used a few and like them a lot but prefer the Lee because it’s a lot simpler and easily convertible to other gauges. I think the Lee does better with new hulls though. Mecs are more appropriate for mass loading bird loads, but can do buck and slug great too. The Lee is just as fast if you have the experience knowing how much to pull down on the press. It’s all by feel whereas mecs require setting up, but once it’s setup for the hull you are using its all just a matter of pulling the bar down until it stops. I’d get a mec for 10 gauge instead of converting a lee 12 gauge press.
