Love the videos Sean/Shaun. We’ve literally spent whole evenings watching your many informative posts, golf resort visits and days out with Bonnie 🐶. One thing we would like to have more info on, is the local nightlife, bars, restaurants etc. Would be nice to gauge the ambience of some of them. Do any of the bars sell dark ale, strong Belgian ales etc, as not a great fan of lager. Would also be interesting to know what your favourite local place to go in the evening is? Anyway, keep up the good work. 👍🏼

Local supermarket sells the cans and the Clover bar at the Condado Golf (10 minutes from Camposol) on tap :)

Hi and thanks for all your great videos! Is there any need to install ventilation system when you build a more living like area in a Basement? And maybe installing a heating/AC pump? It doesn´t get humidity? Thanks for all info!

Hi, many thanks for watching the videos, reference the basement, in the winter, it’s cold but not enough to install heating but in the summer, I have the fans on and once we open up more to the pool area, install air-con.

Your basement is huge the ceilings are tall and basically an apartment. We’re moving in now 🤣🤣 Wish I had one.. that would definitely be my studio room with lots of room for activities! Great before & after examples of the space. Your wife’s space is amazingly designed. 👍🏽

Great video but when constructing concrete block walls there should be foundations? seems the walls are just constructed on the concrete screed finish thus will subside in years to come. Is there not a government building inspector need in Spain?

Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video. In this part of Spain we live in a earth quake zone, I've had 2 while in my basement. These are pillars with metal rods (same again buried in the ground) and the supporting walls are about 2 to 3 feet thick! Also with metal rods. Many thanks for watching :)

Great video Shaun, is there a reason the walls have to be brick an plaster? I’m use to seen the walls been built with drywall & metal studs in the basement on the states, mine included. I’m sure humidity plays a good reason for it. The finish product looks very modern an spacious. 👍

@ No planning ! You mean you never asked as any change to a property has to have the blessing of the Ayuntamiento & once given the fee then has to be paid. If tanking of the underbid is not done when the place is being built it will cost a fortune at a later stage, hence most Spanish only use them for storage of vehicles / utility area.

Correct, our contractor sorted out any licenses that needed to be added during the build, even changing a kitchen door!!! Many thanks for watching :)

Very nice basement, I didn't realize your studio was down there. It's probably nice and cool down there in the summer months. I used to have a nice basement and my old house I sold last year. Great vid Shaun, you did wonders with that space.
