So not only is the combination lock built like the 175 which we can clearly bypass but they added a shoddy 4 pin core making even easier to pick open.
On the flipside, These would be great for low security situations where several locks are needed and may be accessed using a control key like management or anyone in charge of the area.

Thanks for bringing the 176 to my attention, I've yet to see it over here 🇬🇧. How ironic that you should set the code too 1-2-3-4, because there are now 4 ways to get this lock open without knowing the code. Not really a combination lock, more of a glorified carabiner! 😂🤣😂 Cheers

Hello Albert, We use the exact same lock at our sport facility. Each lock is numbered and has it own code combination. Of course a couple of us have the override key for maintenance and stuff like that. But overtime we have around 15 locks where we've lost the code. Unfortunately you can't reset the code, even with the code key or override key. Do you have any tips how we can find the code again? Thanks

Hello Breeze, Thanks for checking it out. I am not a locksmith but I would have thought once the lock is open you could follow the reset operation to change the combo. That's what I would try. Are you familiar with the steps to reset them ? You will need the reset key also

Hello Albert, Thanks for responding! Well yeah, we've have the override key and the key to set a new code. Of course we are able to open the locks with the override key, but there is no way to reset the code if you lost code. As far as I'm aware you have to set the original code to reset it. Even Masterlock itself can't help us. (or won't tell us 😉)

@@breeze-nl-3334 Well that is ridiculous. It's not as if their stolen. You own them. I am truly shocked by this. Master lock should replace your locks or show you how to change code. Are you here in the U.S. ?? If you would like, send them to me, I can likely decode them using same method I did on the Master lock 175 and send them back to you.

@@AlbertLebel Thank you for your offer, but I live in the Netherlands, so send them to you will be expensive 😆 (I can buy new locks for it I guess) But I've contacted Masterlock BeNeLux (Europe), but I will try to contact the support from the US, maybe they will help. I personally think there are 2 options: Lock picking: Something we already tried with other youtube videos. But is so hard to get the right feeling. Or somehow separate the inside from the body. There is a iron pin that can be removed. But after that you can't slide the inside out, because of the cilinder. So there must be a trick to remove that. So yeah, still searching the internet for that. Again, thank you for your help and thoughts.

you only need the key, if you do not know the combo. and with locks like that, they are all keyed alike, so if they gave you a key with the lock, you could open any 176 lock. so the key is like a TSA key

@@RuneInternational there are multiple override keys. Different locks will have different ones. Those sets are keyed alike but from different dealers will be keyed different. 🌶

Ok, I'll try not to yell this time! Did the control lock have spools? It looked like the tension wrench was bouncing a bit. Also I didn't see any code numbers stamped on the control lock to order a control key. Are all the control keys keyed the same (if so that's NOT good)?

That is not a button. It's a pin that retains all the parts in the lock I believe. Is the lock working

Ya if you need to use several padlocks but need a guardian or master key this would be fine so long as it's a low security situation. Work lockers or something of that sort
