So surprised to see so many people on here who are likely Christians, not believing in what the Bible says and spending more time paying attention to evolution and what man says than what God says. Look at what most of the responses on here are. Well man says......well scientists say......well evolution says ...... It's truly discouraging and I hope God will open up your eyes to what his word says over what fallen humanity says.

Your lack of reasoning/judgment is convincing to stay away from religion (if that is what programming your brain). You don't understand what I say because you take everything to first degree, literally, to the letter. And that is the problem with both young earthers and flat earthers. In Genesis 6:14 God tells Noah to coat the inside and outside of the ark with pitch. "Make yourself an ark of gopher wood, ... cover it within and without with pitch." If the tar of petroleum derivative found in the earth, such as the "tar pits" was meant as in (Gen. 14:10) that would suggest ancient compressed vegetation. Tar would suggest older earth remains buried in the ground before the Deluge. And that would suggest a pre-adamic world that had been long gone by Noah's day.
@newcreationinchrist1423

Anyone who takes the time to consult a reasonable dictionary of geology will find that pitch can be extracted by distilling or heating wood. In fact, prior to the rise of the petroleum and coal industries, this was exactly how pitch was made. For at least one thousand years, the pitch-making industry in Europe flourished. It was the pitch from this industry which assisted in the construction of those great wooden sailing ships which figured so prominently in European history. Pitch making was a skilled trade, and many European surnames bear testimony to that fact today. In Polish, the word for pitch or tar is ‘smola’. Any Polish telephone directory displays names such as Smola, Smolander, Smolen, Smolenski and Smolarz. These surnames simply mean ‘the man who makes pitch’.
@newcreationinchrist1423
@newcreationinchrist1423 2 жыл бұрын
Likewise in Germany, the word for pitch is ‘Teer’, and it appears in names such as Teer and Teerman. Even the English have families whose name is Pitcher, Tarrier or Tarmen, to mention but a few. These all indicate that the trade of manufacturing pitch was extremely common throughout Europe. So how did they make pitch before the growth of the petroleum and coal industries? Their first step was to obtain resin from the pine trees which at that time grew in dense forests throughout Europe. A herringbone pattern of cuts was gouged into the tree trunk and as the resin ran down the grooves it was collected in a pot at the base of the tree. Pine resin is still collected in this way in Poland, the Ukraine, Russia, Finland and other European countries where pine forests are still to be found. When the resin had finished flowing, the trees were chopped down, covered in soil or ash, and burned slowly to produce a lightweight black pure form of carbon called charcoal. The last step in the process of making pitch was to add the powdered charcoal to the boiling pine resins. Different proportions of charcoal would produce pitch of different properties. It was this pitch which was used to waterproof the large ocean-going wooden ships

Now, while I cannot say for sure that Noah obtained pitch for the ark exactly in this fashion, it does illustrate that you don’t have to be able to extract either oil or coal from the ground in order to make pitch. Anyone who had cut down as many trees as Noah and his helpers for the manufacture of an ocean-going ark would certainly have found out about tree resins. If Europeans had a well known and widely used method of making pitch before the discovery of petroleum, obviously Noah could also have had the same satisfactory way of waterproofing the ark with its covering of pitch.

Oh my… I think this channel just lost major credibility. I am shocked Bobby is a young earther. I was going to have my students listen to one episode before each class, so that they can get a well-rounded and scientifically sound perspective that demonstrates the reasonableness of Christian faith from an old earth/creation perspective that engages science instead of pitting it against the Bible. I won’t be using this channel.

@@dokidokibibleclub Since I don’t believe in Darwinian evolution, I would be arguing with you not against you. I am an old earth creationist. I am also a history teacher, not a science teacher. That being said, if you or your young earth adherence are interested in debating the science with other Christian scientists, then I recommend you contact the ministry Reasons to Believe/Hugh Ross. But I would suggest you first watch their debates with Ken Ham/Answers in Genesis. The young earth position loses to old earth creationism each time-quite badly in my opinion.

I think that is not about believe what we are talking here it's about facts. And if you go to a science book you can easily find this explanations. There is a problem here where we mix science with spiritual beliefs. You said you can't believe that just an asteroid could kill dinosaurs but not every other live on earth. I encourage you to go to a scientist and ask him about this. So you realize how is possible God is about faith but not science.

@Pablo Diaz Gamo you should remember, that most scientists argue on a completely different worldview (naturalist, materialist). Of course they will explain things differently. And they don't stop with dinos, the go on to the virgin birth, Jesus miracles, his resurrection and so on. (I'm not defending young Earth here, just want it to mention)

@pablodiazgamo5969

@@newcreationinchrist1423 I didn't mean that. The bible is the most famous book of all time. The most translated, the most read, the most studied, and is the sacred book of the biggest religion. It trumps a science book. However we can't say the bible is a history book or any source for science. So in this sense science books trumps. The Bible explains the mystical/spiritual realm, but not the world we see. Every book has its own purpose, that was what I meant.

His comments about why he doesn’t believe in the asteroid are quite astoundingly ignorant. There have been 5 known mass extinctions on earth history, and the asteroid wasn’t even the worst, only wiping out 75% of life. The CT boundary (the timing of the asteroid) has dinosaur fossils below and none above, and has very high level of iridium that is common in asteroids and rare on earth. The asteroid crater has been found and dated, in the Yucatán, and despite devastating life on earth the crater is only between 100-200 km wide, and would not have destroyed any dinosaur fossils except perhaps those in the direct path of impact. The evidence for asteroid wiping out dinosaurs 65 million years ago is beyond reasonable doubt. The evidence for young earth creation is non falsifiable and not needed to explain the current world we live in. Trust the science for truth, the Bible for myth.
